The 2015 Prep Baseball Report Western Maryland Prospect ID took place Wednesday, June 24th at Frederick Community College in Frederick, MD. 30 prospects from the class of 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 participated in the event.

Over the course of this week we will be releasing position-by-position analysis articles with scouting reports on each player and identifying the top prospects. Two-way prospects will appear in a position analysis as well as pitching analysis. We shall identify top prospect in each area and identify a younger talent (2018 or 2019) as a Future Watch if applicable

Top Prospects
Chris Chaney RHP/SS 2019 St. James
From a ¾ arm slot have quick arm speed and a sound arm action pitching at 81 mph. Has a controlled delivery with some effort and rhythm. Fastball has late run and shows strong command of the pitch at an early age. Breaking ball has 10-to-4 action and potential to be a power pitch. Changeup has near fastball arm speed at 71 mph.
Matt Harsh LHP 2017 Boonsboro
5-foot-10 225-pound left handed pitcher. Throws from a ¾ arm angle at 77-80 mph. Has quick arm speed with a loose arm action. Gets tall and controlled at balance and pitches with regular effort. Has some rhythm in his delivery and has a slight recoil at finish. Fastball has late run to the pitch. Breaking ball has 2-to-8 action and has potential to be a power pitch with increased consistency. Throws a knuckleball with near fastball arm speed and average command. Front leg works against posture at times in finish causing ball to be up.
Ryan Washabaugh RHP/1B 2017 Urbana
Lanky frame at 5-foot-10, 170-pounds. On the mound throws from a high ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed and a loose action at 77 mph. Has controlled balance and pitches with regular effort. Fastball has lat run and sink on the pitch. Breaking ball has 10/4 action and gradual break. Changeup has near fastball arm speed and cuts the pitch.

Sam Ewing LHP/OF/1B Sherwood HS 2019
Ewing has a compact frame at 5-foot-6 135-pounds. Pitches from an over-the-top arm angle with average arm speed and a sound arm action. Has controlled balance and pitches with regular effort. Shoulders are slightly uphill. Fastball is straight with slight run at 71 mph. Shows signs of a nice breaking ball at 58 mph with early break. Has average arm speed on his changeup with arm side run and occasional sink at 61 mph. Shows command at an early age.
Andrew Fritz RHP/OF 2016 North Carroll
Fritz throws from a high ¾ arm angle with average arm speed and a free arm action. Has controlled balance and pitches with regular effort. Fastball has slight run and sink action at 70 mph. Throws a 10/4 breaking ball at 63 mph with a 66 mph change up with cut and near fastball arm speed.
Spencer McNamee 3B/OF/RHP 2019 St. James
Throws from a ¾ arm angle with above average arm speed and pitches at 74 mph. Breaking ball has gradual movement with 11/5 action and near fastball arm speed at 68 mph. Changeup has run and sink at 67 mph.
Ryan Mills OF/1B/LHP Old Mill
Mills pitches from a ¾ arm slot with average arm speed and a sound arm action. Has controlled balance and pitches with some effort. Level shoulder nice direction and square landing. Fastball has slight run at 77 mph. Breaking ball has near fastball arm speed and 2/8 action with gradual break at 67 mph. Changeup has near fastball arm speed with sink at 71 mph.
