SEASON OUTLOOK
Dover is looking to reach higher this season after losing in the state semifinal last year. The Senators finished at a strong 10-3 in the Henlopen Conference and 16-5 overall. Head Coach Dave Gordon is entering his sixth season as the Dover skipper and will look to key senior returners SS/P Jordan Hutchins (Delaware) and LHP Garrett Lawson (Delaware State). Keep an eye out for newcomer junior Dmitri Floyd seeing increased playing time as he will be doing most of the work behind the dish as the catcher.

A total of 12 seniors graduated last year off the Senators state semifinal squad. With another large senior class coming up the ranks, and a good group of juniors behind them, this team will have to gel quickly to create chemistry to be successful according to Coach Gordon. The Senators strength this season is their depth in the field. Multiple players have the versatility to play different positions like OF/INF Tevin Thomas who will also be a key returner and play a large role with leadership. Coach Gordon believes because so many of his guys can be versatile, that this Senators squad may be one of his most athletic teams he has had at Dover. Other key contributors will be juniors Jared Hickox (P/INF) and Avery Tunnel (INF/OF). This season look for a few new faces to step in and make a name for themselves to help get the Senators a shot a redemption in the state tournament.
