Top Performances from the Positional Workout Portion
Diego Carrion SS / 2B / Atholton, MD / 2023Athletic 5'6', 155 pound middle infielder. Rangy with quick footwork defensively and solid defensive actions. Ran a 7.18 60-yard time and was 71 mph across the diamond. Rhythmic load at the plate with a compact swing and gap-to-gap line drive approach. Bat flashes occasional pop currently with more projected with added strength. Shows balance throughout and stays on the ball well through contact.

Cole Carter OF / SS / DeMatha Catholic, MD / 2023Excellent first look at Carter. Really impressed at the plate and love the ceiling. Athletic 5'11'', 165 pound frame with advanced strength. Balanced approach at the plate with a short fluid swing and easy pop. Ball jumps off the bat recording an 87 mph exit velo per TrackMan during BP. Speed present - ran a 7.01 60-yard time that will surely go down with time. Very interesting follow.

Drew Durrington OF / 2B / Good Counsel, MD / 2021Really nice uncommitted senior seemingly still flying under the radar. Smaller frame at 5'8'', 155 pounds but possess strength in the body and potential to still add more weight moving forward. The speed plays in all phases of the game. True center-fielder that can go get it and is aggressive and disrupting on the base paths. Recorded his fastest 60-time to date at a PBR event during the scout day at 6.75 and backed it up a day later at the Unsigned Senior Games with a 6.77. In addition to the speed, there is evidence of above average pop in the bat that's been proven to also play in game the multiple times we've seen him over the summer. Bat stays short and quick through the zone with feel for using the whole field. Recorded a 92 mph exit velo at this year's USG and also shows some arm strength from the outfield at 82 mph.

Nicholas Doyle OF / DeMatha Catholic, MD / 2022Solid day for Doyle at this year's Scout Day. Athletic 5'8'', 155 pound frame with room to fill out. Ran a 7.00 60-yard time and was 74 mph from the outfield. Swing is quick, balanced, and compact. Middle of the field line drive approach present with occasional pop. Recorded an 85 mph exit velo. Like the feel for the barrel. Added strength with further enhance the development.
Christian Gamez 3B / OF / Calvert Hall, MD / 2023Got another good look at Gamez at the Scout Day. Really like the versatility to play multiple positions in the field. Should provide him with multiple opportunities to play at the next level with a bat that already plays up. Whole field approach at the plate with more power currently to the pull-side. Consistent feel for the barrel in game as witnessed multiple times this summer. Athletic 5'11'', 175 pound frame with some strength and room to fill out even more. Tough, hard nosed player.
Cael Huyer LHP / OF / South River, MD / 2021Lot to like out of Huyer from the frame to the game. Interesting uncommitted potential two-way player at the next level. Posted strong numbers positionally at the Scout Day running 7.11 60-yard time and was up to 84 mph from the outfield. Will be highlighted again in a future blog about the arms from the event but showed some two-way potential with a strong effort at the plate as well. Tall, lanky 6'1'', 165 pound frame with room to really fill out. Controlled load and balance present throughout the swing. Showed quick hands and quick bat speed through the zone staying behind the ball well. Really nice gap-to-gap approach with some surprising pop to the alleys.

Ryan Lawrence OF / RHP / St. Michaels , MD / 2023Have enjoyed watching the development this summer of former Junior Future Games Team Mid-Atlantic member Ryan Lawrence. Backed it up with a nice workout at the Scout Day posting solid numbers across the board. Ran a 7.18 and was up to 80 mph from the outfield during the defensive portion. Swing looks more relaxed, easy and fluid through the zone. Flashed some hand speed with a middle to pull-side approach. Stayed on the ball through contact with balance and like how the ball was jumping off the bat. Recorded an 89 mph exit velo at the event.
Anders Liimatainen 1B / RHP / Queen Annes County , MD / 2024Young player with some advanced strength already present at the plate. Direct with a more level swing path. Physical 6'1'', 190 pound frame. Swing shows stiffness but it will be interesting to see how explosive it could become as he begins to free up the lower half and increase the bat speed.
John Padousis C / 1B / St. Paul's School, MD / 2022Nice looking uncommitted catching prospect. Strong, 5'10'', 185 pound frame. Swings with intent and worked gap-to-gap during BP with strong lower half involvement. Stays behind the ball well. Creates fast bat speed through the zone with a whippy barrel and more level swing path. Solid behind the dish with a strong arm (76 mph) and ability to catch and throw. Threw the top pop's at the Scout Day at 2.00 - 2.13. Like the power projection at the plate and figures to be another solid follow moving forward in the 2022 class.
Jordan Peguese 3B / RHP / Marriotts Ridge, MD / 2022Arguably the biggest winner at the Scout Day was Peguese. Unknown uncommitted 2022 that really made a name for himself. Very intriguing - love the athleticism and motor. Athletic with twitchy actions. Showed versatility to play in the outfield or middle infield. Strong arm (90 mph OF), (85 mph INF). Short, level swing path at the plate with a middle of the field line drive approach. Flashed some pop with more projected. Ran a 7.34 60-yard time which figures to trim. Raw with a high ceiling. Really interesting follow as he continues to add polish.
Tyler Pelletreau OF / Arundel , MD / 2021Really nice workout put forth by uncommitted 2021 outfield prospect, Tyler Pelletreau. Strong 5'11'', 180 pound frame. Projects more as a corner outfielder with 6.96 speed and power at the dish. Recorded a 91 mph exit velo showcasing that power gap-to-gap during the BP session. Controlled load with hand separation and stays behind the ball well. Flashed quick bat speed through the zone and showed a slightly uphill swing path.
Nolan Short OF / OF / South River, MD / 2021Another interesting uncommitted 2021 outfielder with upside at this year's Scout Day. Athletic 5'11'', 170 pound frame with some strength and room to fill out. Really liked the way the ball jumped off the barrel. Took two nice BP rounds squaring balls up to both gaps. Rhythmic load and gets the barrel on plane early. More level swing path, quick hands and generates fast, whippy bat speed through the zone. Think the power continues to project and slots well as a corner outfielder with 7.13 speed.
Tyler Titus 1B / RHP / Queen Anne's County High School, MD / 2022Really nice performance put forth from Titus at this year's scout day. Strong, physical 6'1", 225 pound frame with some projectable two-way ability. Hands start high with a smooth and repeatable back load. Creates solid hand separation and a medium sized leg kick into quick barrel action through the zone. Slightly uphill swing path with solid extension through contact. Ball comes off the bat really well, showing present pull side strength and power.
