Future Games: 2022 Follows
September 2, 2020
On Sept. 1, college coaches could begin calling members of the 2022 class. Shooter Hunt listed who would be on his call sheet, and PBR state directors provided several others who should be followed for The Hotlist. All of the players listed below remain uncommitted. Also, The Rode Show Podcast hosted several state directors from the LakePoint pod earlier this week and another episode will air Thursday with highlights from the Midwest and Northeast.
Chase Alderman, RHP, Rowan County HS, KY
Alderman is a long, projectable 6-foot-4, 178-pound righty with a loose arm action that works through a high-3/4 slot. His frame and arm action combo should easily lead to additional velocity. At the Future Games, Alderman's fastball topped out at 89 mph while working in the 84-88 range with occasional arm-side run. He works his fastball well to both sides of the plate and has feel for spin on the breaking ball at 71-74 mph with sharp break. His fastball spin rate peaked at 2250 rpm while the curveball spin rate peaked at 2458. He stuck with the fastball/curveball mix in his effective two-inning stint against Team Indiana, but has also shown previous ability to use a 76-79 changeup in his arsenal.
