On September 25th the PBR Louisiana Staff traveled to Tulane University to host the Louisiana State Games. The event featured more than 80 of the top 2023-2026 prospects from around the state and provided our staff an ample look at every player in attendance.

We continue the analysis from the event with a look at all of the outfielders in attendance. We broke down the top-five outfielders on the day followed by the rest of the outfielders in attendance.

 

TOP outfielders

1. Brooks Wright, Catholic (BR) (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: OF/OF Former Future Gamer and a steady riser in the state's 2024 class
Body: 6-3, 185-pounds. Projectable, long, and athletic
Hit: LHH. Starts in an open, tall, and upright stance, uses a simple load and stride and gets his front foot down early Direct path to contact with uphill extension, got into a couple balls during BP to the pull-side gap showing some present power.  Took much improved in-game AB's during gameplay collecting a single up the middle and two-strike infield single during a competitive AB.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 85.7 mph. 341’ max distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 82.00 mph. Short arm action, releases from over the top
Defense: Long strider in the OF, gets good reads and jumps off the bat, has the speed and instincts to stick in CF.
Run: 6.57 runner in the 60.

2.Braylen Montgomery, Walker (LA), 2026
Positional Profile: OF/RHP One of the top 2026's in the state
Body: 6-3, 173-pounds. Projectable, athletic, with long limbs
Hit: RHH. Starts in an upright, balanced, and athletic stance with hands held at shoulder height, uses a simple load and stride. Displayed quick hands in BP and present bat speed using a short and flat path to contact with slightly uphill extension and present power to the pull-side with more on the way.
Power: 94 max exit velocity, averaged 84.4 mph. 358’ max distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 86.00 mph. Long and loose arm action, releases from a 3/4 slot
Defense: Glides in the OF with long strides, caught the baseball clean and out front, played through everything athletically and has the tools and ability to stick in CF.
Run: 6.88 runner in the 60.

3. Noah Lewis, Catholic High (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: OF/3B One of the top uncommitted OF's in the state's 2025 class
Body: 6-2, 185-pounds. Athletic and physical
Hit: RHH. Starts in an upright, balanced, and athletic stance with hands held at shoulder height, uses a simple load and stride to get to center. Repeated his swing well with a flat path to contact and slightly uphill extension, started his BP round off by working to the middle of the field on a line, let loose on the last couple and showed some pull-side power potential.
Power: 90 max exit velocity, averaged 82.1 mph. 330’ max distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 81.00 mph. Longer arm swing, releases from a high 3/4 slot
Defense: Caught the ball clean and out front, played through everything with athletic actions and footowork.
Run: 6.59 runner in the 60.

4. Dylan Biddick, Lafayette  (LA), 2023 Louisiana-Lafayette
Positional Profile: OF/RHP One of the top ranked uncommitted 2023's in the state
Body: 5-10, 179-pounds. Athletic with strong lower-half
Hit: RHH. Starts in an open, upright, and balanced stance with hands held high, uses a simple load and stride to get to center. Delivers a heavy barrel to contact with a direct path and uphill two-handed extension, maintians balance throughout the swing, had one of the better BP rounds on the day and showed present power to the pull-side gap.  Collected an opposite field double in gameplay.
Power: 98 max exit velocity, averaged 92.1 mph. 386’ max distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 75.00 mph. Short arm action with a 3/4 release
Defense: Caught everything clean and out front and played through the ball with athletic footwork, profiles as a LF at next level.
Run: 7.11 runner in the 60.

5. Jacob Froehlich, St. Thomas More (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: 3B/OF One of the top performers at the State Games
Body: 6-2, 200-pounds. Physical and athletic with strong lower-half
Hit: RHH. Starts in an open, balanced, and athletic stance, uses a simple load and stride and stays balanced from start to finish Bat head goes rearward as he starts his rotation creating a little length in the swing, but his path is flat with an uphill finish, showed big-time power to the pull-side and took good AB's during the game with one being on a first pitch CH that he lined to the opposite field gap.
Power: 98 max exit velocity, averaged 93.4 mph. 378’ max distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 91.00 mph. Short and quick, released from a 3/4 slot
Defense: Profiles as a corner OF, caught the ball clean and out front, played through everything with athletic footwork and actions

Eli Booth, Brother Martin (LA), 2023
Positional Profile: OF/1B
Body: 5-11, 190-pounds. Physical
Hit: LHH. Starts in a balanced, athletic and squared off stance with hands held at shoulder height, uses a simple load and stride to get to center Showed present bat speed during BP, compact and short path to contact with a level two-handed finish, showed some present power to the pull-side gap.
Power: 97 max exit velocity, averaged 86.7 mph. 355’ max distance.
Arm: LH. INF - 80.00 mph. OF - 83.00 mph. Short and quick with a high 3/4 release
Defense: Moved really well around 1B bag, especially for a physical frame, and also got good jumps and reads off the bat in the OF, profiles as possible corner OF.
Run: 7.09 runner in the 60.

Dillon Braxton, Natchitoches Central  (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: OF/OF
Body: 5-9, 171-pounds. Athletic
Hit: LHH. Starts in a balanced and athletic stance with hands held at shoulder height, uses a quick toe-tap load and stride. Stays flat to contact with a level two-handed finish, front shoulder came off the ball at times, as he worked mostly to the pull-side on a line or on the ground.
Power: 88 max exit velocity, averaged 81.7 mph. 313’ max distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 82.00 mph. Short and quick, 3/4 release
Defense: Good athlete, good jumps and reads off the bat, attacked the ball aggressively but under control and played through the ball with athletic footwork.

Evan Burg, Archbishop Rummel (LA), 2025 Tulane
Positional Profile: OF/RHP Recent Tulane commit
Body: 6-0, 165-pounds. Wiry and athletic
Hit: RHH. Starts in a wider, squared off, and balanced stance with hands held close to his right ear, uses a knee to knee load and stride. Stays short to contact with a direct path to the ball, comes out of his lower-half at times, slightly uphill finish, stayed gap to gap during his BP round and created consistent hard contact.  Also collected a double to the pull-side during gameplay.
Power: 88 max exit velocity, averaged 76.5 mph. 255’ max distance.
Arm: RH. OF - 86.00 mph. Short and quick arm action, releases from a high 3/4 slot
Defense: Attacked the ball aggressively, but under control, plays through the ball with athletic footowork.

Wyatt Chenevert, Catholic (BR) (LA), 2024
Positional Profile: LHP/OF
Body: 6-0, 160-pounds. Long and lean
Hit: LHH. Starts in a squared off and athletic stance with some weight pre-loaded into backside.  Front foot turned inward, uses a simple load and stride. Gains ground forward after his load, on-plane to contact with uphill extension, took aggressive hacks during BP working mostly to the pull-side showing increased strength.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 74.2 mph. 312’ max distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 81.00 mph. Longer arm action with a little stab in the back, releases froma high 3/4 slot
Defense: Glided around well in the OF, plays through every ball with athletic footowork.

Griffin Cooley, Kinder (LA), 2023 Louisiana State
Positional Profile: OF/LHP Former Future Gamer and one of the top players in the state's 2023 class
Body: 6-1, 180-pounds. Athletic and projectable
Hit: LHH. Starts in a slightly open, balanced, and athletic stance, uses a simple load and stride to get to center. Flat path to contact with some length at times with level extension, doesn't get cheated, swings with aggression and showed bat speed with present pull-side power.
Power: 99 max exit velocity, averaged 92.1 mph. 346’ max distance.
Arm: LH. OF - 85.00 mph. Short arm action, releases from a 3/4 slot
Defense: Gets good reads off the bat, approaches the ball under control, receives it clean and out front, quick transfer during crow hop.  Profiles as a corner OF at the next level.

Body: 6-2, 165-pounds. Athletic and lean

Hit: RHH. Starts in a slightly open, upright stance with hands held above shoulder height, uses a leg kick load and stride. Gets on plane to contact and finishes one-handed slightly uphill, creates good lower half rotation, and is able to stay balanced.

Defense: Plays with confidence in the OF, gets really good jumps and reads off the bat which allows him to play above his speed, can play all 3 OF positions.

Body: 6-3, 195-pounds. Projectable, athletic

Slightly uphill path contact with an uphill two-handed finish, showed some present pull side power during BP, as he continues to refine his swing we expect him to stand up a little more to free up his lower half to really work

John Parker Trahan, Opelousas Catholic  (LA), 2026
Positional Profile: SS/3B
Body: 5-8, 170-pounds.
Hit: Starts in a slightly open, tall and upright stance, uses a leg kick load and stride to get to center. Works uphill to the ball with a one-handed uphill finish, gains ground forward and comes out of legs at times, showed some bat speed and worked gap to gap during BP.
Power: 88 max exit velocity, averaged 76.1 mph. 310’ max distance.

Defense: Showed soft hands and athletic footowork on the infield with average action, moved ok to his left and right and bounder play.

Body: 5-9, 170-pounds.
Hit: Starts in a balanced, athletic stance with hands held above shoulder height, no-stride load. Works with a steeper path to contact and an uphill on-handed finish, stayed balanced throughout swing working mostly middle to opposite field gap.
Power: 78 max exit velocity, averaged 64 mph. 242’ max distance.

Defense: Took a good prep step, starts low and stays low, receives the ball with soft hands, moved ok laterally

Positional Profile: SS/OF One of the top uncommitted players in the 2025 class in Louisiana
Body: 5-11, 170-pounds.
Hit: Starts in an open and athletic stance with some weight pre-loaded into his backside, uses a simple load and stride, draws hands back as he loads with the bat head titled up Direct and slightly steep path to contact with uphill extension, worked mostly to the pull-side gap during BP and showed increased strength.
Power: 93 max exit velocity, averaged 87.3 mph. 339’ max distance.
Arm: LH.  INF - 71.00 mph.  Short arm action, releases from a high 3/4 slot
Defense: Athletic mover on the dirt, plays with some moxie, sets himself up to catch the good hop, moves well laterally and on bounder play.

Stan Wiltz, Brother Martin (LA), 2025
Positional Profile: 2B/SS
Body: 5-9, 155-pounds.
Hit: Starts in a wider and spread out base, hands held at shoulder height, uses a simple load and stride and gets front foot down early as he stretches his upper half back. Uses his lower half to create a tight turn and on-plane path to contact, finishes uphill with two hands, took aggressive hacks during BP and maintained balance from start to finish.
Power: 84 max exit velocity, averaged 80 mph. 308’ max distance.
Arm: RH.  INF - 83.00 mph.  Short and quick with a 3/4 release
Defense: Plays with a lot of bounce, starts low and stays low, presents the glove early and receives it out front with soft hands, moved well to left and right and showed a quick release when he had to.
