Prep Baseball Report Missouri held the 2015 Underclass Games at the University of Missouri on June 16 and June 17. Nearly 90 of the top players in the 2017 and 2018 class attended. The group was divided into three sessions, with two session on June 16 and one session on June 17. Profiles have be updated with times, velos and videos. The games portion of the event can still be viewed on STL Sports Productions. The June 17 games were rained out.
Today we break down the corner infielders from both days. The corner infielders are listed in alphabetical order. In the days to come we will break down Middle Infielders, Outfielders and Pitchers. Overall rankings will be updated shortly after the analysis of each position.

Corner Infielders
Hunter Becker, 3B, Chaminade, 2017
Becker is a 6-foot-0, 165-pound right hand-hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2017 class. He ran a 60 time of 7.26. Over-the-top arm slot, good carry, fluid footwork, quick/clean exchange, plays through, athletic actions. Position velo – 75 mph. At the plate, Becker has an athletic setup with a smooth load. Swing produces gap-to-gap line drives, stays inside ball, fast bat speed, strong hands, feel for the barrel. Exit velo of 88 mph
Ty Buckner, 3B, Ladue, 2017
Ty Buckner is a 6-foot 180-pound third baseman in the 2017 class from Ladue Horton-Watkins. Buckner has runs a 7.56 60 and has an 86 mph exit velo. At the plate, Buckner has a smooth load with no wasted movement from an athletic set up, short to contact, level through the zone with bat path, had gap-to-gap approach during batting practice. On the infield, positional velo of 80 mph, high-three quarters release, long arm swing, hands work with feet, quick release, fluid footwork, accurate throws.
Alec Byous, 3B, Lafayette, 2018
Byous is a 6-foot-0, 165-pound right-hand hitting third baseman. He ran home-to-first time of 4.66 and a 60 time of 7.88. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Alec has fluid footwork and soft hands. His position velo was 72 mph. At the plate, Alec has an athletic setup with a back load. He has good balance through his swing and fast bat speed. His swing produces line drives and uses the middle of the field. His exit velo was 85 mph.
Peyton Carson, 1B, Shawnee Heights (KS), 2018
Carson is a 6-foot-1, 140-pound left hand-hitting first baseman in the Kansas 2018 class. He ran a 60 time of 7.49. High 3/4 arm slot, loose arm action, fluid footwork, quick/clean exchange, athletic movements. Position velo at 74 mph. At the plate, Carson has an athletic setup with a smooth load. Level swing produces gap-to-gap line drives, needs strength, fast bat speed. Exit velo of 83 mph.
Garrett Darrah, 1B, Fort Zumwalt North, 2018
Darrah is a 6-foot-3, 175-pound left-hand hitting first baseman. He ran home-to-first time of 4.63 and a 60 time of 8.27. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot. Garrett has fluid footwork and a clean exchange. His position velo was 65 mph. At the plate, Garrett has an athletic setup with a back load. He has an inside-out swing that produces line drives and uses the middle to opposite field. His exit velo was 74 mph.
Mark Duley, 1B, Joplin, 2017
Duley is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound right hand-hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2017 class. He ran a 60 time of 7.21. High 3/4 arm slot, fluid footwork, quick/clean exchange, athletic actions. Position velo at 78 mph. At the plate, Duley has an athletic setup with a back load. Simple swing produces gap-to-gap line drives, gets extension, fast bat speed, plus power potential, projectable. Exit velo was 92 mph, one of the best for the event.
Tyler Edwards, 1B, Clever, 2016
Edwards is a 6-foot-3, 225-pound right hand-hitting corner infielder in Missouri’s 2016 class. He ran a 60 time of 7.73. High 3/4 arm slot, fluid footwork, quick/clean exchange, athletic movements. Position velo – 67 mph. At the plate, Edwards has an open setup with a smooth load. Level swing produces gap-to-gap line drives, strong frame, , power potential, fast bat speed. Exit velo at 76 mph.
Austin Gammill, 1B, Platte County, 2017
Gammill is a 6-foot-3, 230-pound right hand-hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class. He ran a 60 time of 7.80. 3/4 arm slot, fluid footwork, quick/clean exchange. Position velo at 70 mph. At the plate, Gammill has an athletic setup with a smooth load. Swing produces line drives, middle approach, some swagger in his approach. Exit velo at 78 mph
Reese Hicks, 1B, Joplin, 2017
06/16/15 – Hicks is a 6-foot-2, 180-pound switch-hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2017 class. He ran a 60 time of 7.51. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot. Reese has fluid footwork and a clean exchange. His position velo was 68 mph. At the plate, Hicks has an athletic setup with a drop load. He barreled up most balls with a level swing that produces gap-to-gap line drives. His exit velo was 86 mph from the right side and 78 mph from the left side.
Max Hollon, 3B, Kearney, 2017
Hollon is a 6-foot-1, 164-pound right hand-hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2017 class. He ran a 60 time of 7.37. Over-the-top arm slot, fluid footwork, quick/clean exchange, athletic actions. Position velo – 78 mph. At the plate, Hollon has a balanced setup with a smooth load. Swing produces line drives, projectable frame. Exit velo at 80 mph
Zack Hunsicker, 3B, Francis Howell, 2018
Hunsicker is a strong 6-foot-4, 215-pound right hand-hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class. He ran a 60 time of 7.63. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with carry. Zack has fluid footwork and a clean exchange. He plays through the ball. His position velo was 75 mph. At the plate, Hunsicker has an athletic setup with a long stride and a simple load. Zack has some swagger in his approach and a swing that produces gap-to-gap line drives. There is definite projectable plus power in his swing. His exit velo was 84 mph.
W. Max Hunter, 3B, Platte County, 2018
Hunter is a 6-foot 195-pound right-handed hitting 3B in the 2018 class, from Platt County HS. Hunter has an exit velo of 80 mph and runs a 7.78 60. At the plate, starts slightly open, small stride to square, slight hand load, loose hands, level to extension, gap-to-gap approach. On the infield, 83 mph positional velo, arm winds up to throw, momentum through catch, quick transfer, fluid footwork.
Zachary Hurwitz, 3B, Liberty-Wentzville, 2018
Hurwitz is a 6-foot-1, 155-pound right hand-hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class. He ran a 60 time of 7.34. Over-the-top arm slot, quick/clean exchange, good carry with accuracy. Position velo was 69 mph. At the plate, Hurwitz has an athletic setup with a smooth load. Swing produces up the middle line drives, attacks ball, good round of BP. Exit velo at 81 mph.
Coltyn Kessler, 3B, Rockwood Summit, 2017
Kessler is a physical 6-foot-2 215-pound left-handed hitting catcher. At the late, Kessler has an advanced approach with quick bat speed. He has no wasted movement in his load, starts open with a small stride,making solid consistent contact during batting practice. He has an 84 mph exit velo and showed power to the pull gap, ran a 7.96 60. On the infield, 75 mph positional velo, accurate throws, quick feet gaining ground towards target, three-quarters release, plays through the catch.
Jake Lufft, 3B, Blue Springs, 2018
Lufft is a 6-foot-0, 186-pound right hand-hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2018 class. He ran a 60 time of 7.26. Over-the-top arm slot, fluid footwork, quick/clean exchange, athletic actions. Position velo – 75 mph. At the plate, Lufft has a slightly open setup with a smooth load. Swing produces gap-to-gap line drives, gets extension, fast bat speed, opposite field pop. Exit velo of 86 mph.
Justin Mitchell, 3B, Platte County, 2017
Mitchell Is a 5-foot-11 195-pound right-handed hitting catcher in the 2017 class. Mitchell is combination of strength and athleticism. He runs a 6.78 60 and posted a 91 mph exit velo, both among the top for the event. At the plate, starts with a wide stance, uses a toe touch to load, minimal movements in hands. Level path to extension, fast bat speed, ability to hit to both gaps. On the infield, Mitchell posted one of the top velos on the day at 82 mph, quick feet, has range laterally, over-the-top release, clean exchange, accurate throws.
Tristen O’Neal, 1B, Rolla, 2018
O’Neal is a 6-foot-1 205-pound right-handed hitting catcher in the 2018 class. He ran a 7.75 60 with an 89 mph exit velo. During batting practice, O’Neal showed a simple and repeatable swing. Small load with early to touch, quick/loose hands, level through contact, middle to pull side. On the infield, 74 mph positional velo at 1B, high-three quarters release, mostly accurate throws, gets momentum towards target with fluid footwork, clean exchange.
Dennis Yingling, 1B, Lindbergh, 2017
Yingling is a strong 5-foot-11 170-pound right-handed hitting first baseman, throws left. Yingling ran a 7.10 60 and has an 89 mph exit velo. Has balanced set up at the plate, open stance, lands open, leg kick, loose/strong hands, line drives to pull gap during batting practice. On the infield, over-the-top release, fluid footwork, clean exchange, mostly accurate throw, positional velo at 77 mph.
