Winter Pitchers Showcase - 2018-2019 Pitchers

Prep Baseball Report - Missouri held the Winter Pitcher's Showcase on Feb. 16 at the Sports Barn in St. Louis, along with P3 Performance. Over thirty pitchers from Missouri and Illinois in the 2018 to 2021 classes attended.
Players can now update their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard.
Player profiles have been updated with profile picture, running times, velocities, and videos. Today we will break down the 2018 and 2019 pitchers from Winter Pitcher's Showcase.
The 2018 and 2019 pitching group had eighteen 2019 pitchers and three 2018 pitchers. This group also included four lefties and seventeen righties. Five pitchers were 85 mph or better with their fastball velo, with two pitchers touching 90 mph or better. Here is a look at the upperclass pitchers from the 2018 Winter Pitcher's Showcase.
2018-2019 Pitchers
Brady Dolde RHP / 1B / Troy Buchanan, MO / 2019Dolde is a strong 6-foot-2 210-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. Dolde comes from a high three quarters arm slot, repeatable and compact delivery, says in line down the mound, throws with some effort and accelerated tempo, lands in athletic finish, fastball worked 80- 83-mph, some on downhill tilt, bottom of zone, breaking ball 68-69 mph, 11-to-5 shape, some with late break and depth, will throw for a strike, 72-75 mph change up, throws with near fastball arm speed, has command with slight arm side run. |
Sam Grace RHP / Francis Howell North, MO / 2018Grace is a 6-foot-4 205-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2018 class. Grace has a long and lean frame with a quick arm speed, throws with effort, aggressive down the mound and in line towards home plate, high three quarters arm slot, works from the 1B side of the rubber, fastball has running action, worked consistently at 93-94 mph, downhill, showed a splitter and curveball, splitter has 12-to-6 shape 80-82 mph, some with late downward action, curveball has more 11-to-5 action at 77-79 mph, throws change with fastball arm speed, 84-87 mph, some with sinking action. |
Brendan Johnson RHP / OF / Frankfort Community, IL / 2019Johnson is a strong 6-foot-2 220-pound right-handed pitcher in Illinois 2019 class. Johnson high three quarters arm slot, hands raise with leg lift, should remain level with an in line stride, throws with regular effort, fastball worked 81-84 mph, curveball at 70-72 mph, 11-to-5 shape, change up at 77-79 mph, near fast ball arm speed, showed command for all pitches. |
Garrett Juergens RHP / 1B / Sullivan , MO / 2019Juergens is a 5-foot-10 155-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. Juergens is a strike thrower with three pitches, high over the top release, quick tempo to delivery, repeats well with compact delivery, loose arm action, stays in line, fastball showed slight running action, fastball worked 83-85 mph, works down to both sides of the plate, breaking ball has 11-to-5, late and sharp break, change up has arm side sink, throws with fastball arm speed, 79-77 mph, has a feel for the mound, can throw any pitch in any count. |
Turner Mann RHP / 3B / Metamora, IL / 2019Mann is a 6-foot-2 155-pound right-handed pitcher in Illinois’ 2019 class. Mann has a a long and lean frame with plenty of room to add strength as he continues to develop, hands raise lower and raise with leg lift, works slightly across the body adding deception, high three quarters arm slot, arm works with loose action, fastball worked 81-82 mph, some with arm side run, breaking ball at 66-70 mph, 11-to-5 breaking ball, some with late break, throws change up with fastball arm speed, has late arm side run, throws mostly to arm side. |
