St. Louis Gamers Scout Day: Corner Infield Analysis

Prep Baseball Report - Missouri held the St. Louis Gamers Scout Day on February 19 at All-Star Sports in St. Louis, Missouri. Over 60 players attended the event in the 2022 to 2019 classes.
Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard.
This group of corner infielders included three from the class of 2022, two from the 2021 class, two from the 2020 class, and two from the 2019 class. Four players posted 90-plus exit velos with one 89 mph exit velo. Three players were 80 mph or better with their infield velos. Here is a look at the corner infielders from the St. Louis Gamers Scout Day.
Corner Infielders
Chase Brock 3B / SS / Whitfield College Prep, MO / 2022Brock is a 5-foot-10 160-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2022 class. He ran a 4.80 home to first and has an 84 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, strides to toe and high heel, some hand load to get bat angle as he stride, loose and quick hands with level path, hands work inside the ball, gap to gap line drives, On the infield, 75 mph positional velocity, quick catch and throw with clean transfer, over the top release with momentum to throw, aggressive to the ball. |
Gage Cruz 3B / 1B / Belleville East , IL / 2019Cruz is a long and lean 6-foot-3 190—pound left-handed hitting third baseman in Illinois’ 2019 class. He ran a 4.51 home to first and has a 96 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, calm leg left, body stays under control, in line stride, loose hands, quick bat speed, hit the ball hard and flat consistently to pull side, aggressive swing. On the infield, three quarters release, 80 mph positional velocity, athletic actions, plays though the ball, quick transfer with loose arm action, feet and hands work on time together, build will add more strength and power down the road. |
Levi Ebersoldt RHP / 3B / Jefferson, MO / 2020Ebersoldt is a well built 6-foot-3 205-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.44 home to first and has a 90 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced and athletic stance, pre-pitch rhythm in hands, controlled leg lift, strong hands with quick bat speed, body stays under control, swing produced middle to pull side contact, with pull side power. On the infield, 79 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, fields ball in athletic position, gains ground with smooth footwork to throw, fluid footwork to the ball with clean exchanges. |
Charlie Ferbet 1B / OF / De Smet , MO / 2021Ferbet is a 6-foot-3 160-pound left-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 4.88 home to first and has an 81 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, quiet hands, quick leg kick, in line stride, level path, swing produced line drives gap to gap. On the infield, 68 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, aggressive to the ball, gathers feet after catch to create momentum to throw, clean arm action, soft hands, smooth actions. |

Kyle Miller RHP / 1B / Eureka , MO / 2020Miller is a well built and strong 6-foot-2 195-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 4.44 home to first and has a 95 mph exit velocity. At the plate, simple and repeatable with explosive swing, smooth rhythm with balanced stance, in line stride with fast bat speed, hands generate bat whip though the hitting zone to extension, uses lower half for leverage and power, advanced approach to middle and opposite field with power to the pull gap. Alex Shelton 3B / C / SLUH, MO / 2022Shelton is a 5-foot-11 150-pound right-handed hitting third baseman in Missouri’s 2022 class. He ran a 4.34 home to first and has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts with high hands and smooth pre-pitch rhythm, leg kick, in line stride, level path with swing producing middle and pull side line drive, aggressive swing, with continued strength and development will become more consistent. On the infield, 67 mph positional velocity, quick catch and throw, short high three quarters arm slot, clean exchange, works through the ball. |
Tyler Tieman 1B / LHP / Althoff Catholic , IL / 2022Tieman is a strong 5-foot-7 185-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2022 class. He ran a 4.88 home to first and has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, no wasted movement, balanced stance, short stride with quiet hands, simple and repeatable, swing produced gap to gap line drives, body stays under control.
