Missouri Underclass Games: Outfielders Analysis

Prep Baseball Report - Missouri held the Missouri Underclass Games at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg on June 12. Over seventy players attended in the 2020-2021 class.

Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard. Player profiles have been updated with profile picture, running times, velocities, and videos. Today will take a closer look at the outfielders from the event. Players are listed in alphabetical order below.

The outfielders had five players with 60 times under 7.20 and two players under 7.00-seconds. Eight players had exit velos of 85 mph or better, with two over 90 mph. One player produced a positional velocity of 90 mph or better, while five produced a throw of 83 mph or better.

Here is a break down of the outfielders from the Missouri Underclass Games.

Outfielders

Gideon Antle OF / 2B / Licking High, MO / 2020

Antle is a sturdy 5-foot-9 150-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.39 60 and a 4.70 home to first. He has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a wide stance, short stride with a weight shift to back side, short path to contact, hands work in side the ball, uses the middle of the field with gap to gap approach, level bat path. In the outfield, 84 mph positional velocity, works behind the ball, athletic footwork, quick and clean exchange, with high three quarters arm slot, arm works, throws downhill, 84 mph positional velo.

Brant Bowers OF / RHP / Rock Bridge, MO / 2020

Bowers is a 6-foot-3 175-pound right-hands hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.13 home to first and a 4.53 home to first. He has an 88 mph exit velocity. At the plate, simple and repeatable, balanced stance, controlled leg kick, minimal hand movement, level through the zone, consistent gap to gap line drives. In the outfield, 81 mph positional velocity, over the top arm slot, arm works, clean exchange, works behind and through the ball, mostly accurate throws, high projection in build in and athletic movements.

Sam Bryan RHP / OF / Kirkwood, MO / 2021

Bryan is a 5-foot-10 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 7.82 60 and a 4.69 home to first. He has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, smooth weight shift to back side, front foot slides back to load, loose and quick bat speed, showed ability to go the other way, flashed pull power. In the outfield, high three quarters arm slot, gains momentum with feet after the catch, clean exchange, 82 mph positional velocity, some throws with carry to the bag.

Daniel Burns RHP / OF / O'Fallon, IL / 2020

Burns is a 6-foot-1 155-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Illinois’ 2020 class. He ran a 7.15 60 and a 4.61 home to first. He has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, smooth rhythm pre-pitch, slight hand load walking away from stride, short to contact, hands work inside the ball, middle to opposite field contact. In the outfield, 84 mph positional velocity, catches ball in position ready to throw, works behind the ball, clean and quick transfer, fluid action, arm works from high three quarters slot, throws had carry and mostly accurate.

Lucas Burress RHP / OF / Plaza Heights Christian, MO / 2020

Burres is a strong 6-foot 195-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.68 60 and a 4.69 home to first. He has an 82 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, minimal load with rocking weight shift load, level path, hands manipulate the barrel, gap to gap approach. In the outfield, 82 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, quick feet and aggressive to the ball, clean exchange with feet creating momentum through the catch, mostly accurate throws.

Sammy Cooper RHP / OF / Lees Summit West , MO / 2020

Cooper is a well built 5-foot-11 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class, a Notre Dame commit. He ran a 6.90 60 and a 4.23 home to first. He has an 87 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, slight weight shift with load in hands, loose hands with quick bat speed, gap to gap approach, power to the pull gap, showed feel for the barrel with consistent hard contact. In the outfield, 91 mph positional velocity, throws downhill from an over the top arm slot, clean transfer, small crow hop, plays through the ball with momentum, throws are mostly accurate with carry.

Brayden Eftink C / RHP / Notre Dame, MO / 2020

Eftink is a physical 6-foot 190-pound left-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.40 60 and a 4.47 home to first. He has a 92 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts with open stance, slight pre pitch rhyme in hands, controlled leg lift with in line stride, level path, showed power to pull side, stays balanced and under control. In the outfield, 81 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, gains momentum with feet after the catch, clean exchange, mostly accurate throws.

Jake Evans OF / RHP / Park Hill , MO / 2020

Evans is a lean 6-foot-2 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.23 60 and a 4.85 home to first. He has a 74 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a tall and balanced stance, loads with weight shift against back side, minimal hand movement, quick bat, level though the zone, mostly middle to pull side line drives, repeats swing. In the outfield, 78 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, clean exchange on time with momentum in fluid footwork, arm works, mostly accurate throws, some with carry.

Austin Jerger OF / LHP / Northwest House Springs, MO / 2021

Jerger is a 6-foot 178-pound left-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 7.25 60 and a 4.41 home to first. He has an 85 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance with pre-pitch rhythm in hands, slightly closed stride, strong lower half, reverse toe tap to stride, level path with mostly pull side line drives. In the outfield, 74 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, fluid footwork to the ball, clean transfer gaining momentum with feet after the catch, some throws accurate.

Corbin Kamradt RHP / OF / Liberty North , MO / 2020

Kamradt is a lean and long 6-foot-2 165-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.52 60 and a 4.63 home to first. He has an 84 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, short in line stride, minimal hand movement, aggressive swing, fluid acceleration with bat speed, gap to gap approach, some pull power. Loomis is a 5-foot-11 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.20 60 and a 4.58 home to first. He has an 87 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts tall and balanced, slight pre-pitch rhythm in lower half, short in line stride, no waisted movements, level path with middle to pull side contact. In the outfield, high three quarters arms slot, clean exchange, mostly accurate throws, some with carry, 83 mph positional velocity.

Josh Lorenz OF / RHP / Lindbergh, MO / 2021

Lorenz is a 5-foot-10 155-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 7.53 60 and a 4.55 home to first. He has an 80 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, quick pre-pitch rhythm in hands, short in line stride, slight lift to bat path, body stays under control, gap to gap approach. Minkler is a long and loose 6-foot 155-pound right-handed hitting outfield in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 7.38 60 and a 4.66 home to first. He has an 80 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, toe tap, short line line stride, minimal hand load, level path though the zone, gap to gap line drives. In the outfield, loose high three quarters arm slot, quick catch and throw, mostly accurate throws, some with carry to the back, projection in arm action and lean frame, 79 mph positional velocity.

Troy Reynolds RHP / OF / Lebanon, MO / 2020

Reynolds is a strong 6-foot 180-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.21 60 and a 4.51 home to first. He has a 90 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, stride remains slightly open, minimal load, aggressive swing with quick bat speed and flat path, hard and consistent middle to pull side contact during batting practice. In the outfield, 82 mph positional velocity, high three quarters arm slot, long arm circle, works through the ball with momentum in feet, mostly accurate throws with carry to the bag.
