Missouri Underclass Games: Outfielders Analysis

Prep Baseball Report - Missouri held the Missouri Underclass Games at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg on June 12. Over seventy players attended in the 2020-2021 class.
Players can now updated their profiles with a ProspectPlus subscription, while scouts and recruiters can add players on the ScoutPlus dashboard. Player profiles have been updated with profile picture, running times, velocities, and videos. Today will take a closer look at the outfielders from the event. Players are listed in alphabetical order below.
The outfielders had five players with 60 times under 7.20 and two players under 7.00-seconds. Eight players had exit velos of 85 mph or better, with two over 90 mph. One player produced a positional velocity of 90 mph or better, while five produced a throw of 83 mph or better.

Outfielders
Gideon Antle OF / 2B / Licking High, MO / 2020Antle is a sturdy 5-foot-9 150-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.39 60 and a 4.70 home to first. He has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts in a wide stance, short stride with a weight shift to back side, short path to contact, hands work in side the ball, uses the middle of the field with gap to gap approach, level bat path. In the outfield, 84 mph positional velocity, works behind the ball, athletic footwork, quick and clean exchange, with high three quarters arm slot, arm works, throws downhill, 84 mph positional velo. |
Brant Bowers OF / RHP / Rock Bridge, MO / 2020Bowers is a 6-foot-3 175-pound right-hands hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.13 home to first and a 4.53 home to first. He has an 88 mph exit velocity. At the plate, simple and repeatable, balanced stance, controlled leg kick, minimal hand movement, level through the zone, consistent gap to gap line drives. In the outfield, 81 mph positional velocity, over the top arm slot, arm works, clean exchange, works behind and through the ball, mostly accurate throws, high projection in build in and athletic movements. |
Sam Bryan RHP / OF / Kirkwood, MO / 2021Bryan is a 5-foot-10 160-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2021 class. He ran a 7.82 60 and a 4.69 home to first. He has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, smooth weight shift to back side, front foot slides back to load, loose and quick bat speed, showed ability to go the other way, flashed pull power. In the outfield, high three quarters arm slot, gains momentum with feet after the catch, clean exchange, 82 mph positional velocity, some throws with carry to the bag. |
Daniel Burns RHP / OF / O'Fallon, IL / 2020Burns is a 6-foot-1 155-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Illinois’ 2020 class. He ran a 7.15 60 and a 4.61 home to first. He has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, smooth rhythm pre-pitch, slight hand load walking away from stride, short to contact, hands work inside the ball, middle to opposite field contact. In the outfield, 84 mph positional velocity, catches ball in position ready to throw, works behind the ball, clean and quick transfer, fluid action, arm works from high three quarters slot, throws had carry and mostly accurate. |
Lucas Burress RHP / OF / Plaza Heights Christian, MO / 2020Burres is a strong 6-foot 195-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.68 60 and a 4.69 home to first. He has an 82 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, minimal load with rocking weight shift load, level path, hands manipulate the barrel, gap to gap approach. Sammy Cooper RHP / OF / Lees Summit West , MO / 2020Cooper is a well built 5-foot-11 175-pound right-handed hitting outfielder in Missouri’s 2020 class, a Notre Dame commit. He ran a 6.90 60 and a 4.23 home to first. He has an 87 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced set up, slight weight shift with load in hands, loose hands with quick bat speed, gap to gap approach, power to the pull gap, showed feel for the barrel with consistent hard contact. In the outfield, 91 mph positional velocity, throws downhill from an over the top arm slot, clean transfer, small crow hop, plays through the ball with momentum, throws are mostly accurate with carry. |
Brayden Eftink C / RHP / Notre Dame, MO / 2020Eftink is a physical 6-foot 190-pound left-handed hitting catcher in Missouri’s 2020 class. He ran a 7.40 60 and a 4.47 home to first. He has a 92 mph exit velocity. At the plate, starts with open stance, slight pre pitch rhyme in hands, controlled leg lift with in line stride, level path, showed power to pull side, stays balanced and under control.
