On Jan. 26, the PBR Illinois team made its way back to McHenry, Ill., to host its annual McHenry Preseason I.D. event. This was the fifth year the team has made the trip up to host the showcase at Pro Player Academy. Every year, we uncover more and more prospects from this event to add to our watch lists and the same can be said about this year, too.

At the end of January, we posted our rapid analysis on the event in our Quick Hits post and we broke down each of the measured statistics in our Statistical Analysis story.

Over 100 prospects made it out to Pro Player for this event and Monday we began the positional breakdown. Today we conclude the positional breakdown by taking an inside look at all of the arms from the day. 

LHP Matt Porter (Prairie Ridge, 2021) made quite the impression at his first-ever PBR event. Porter has a clean, lively arm, topped at 85 mph and both his off-speed offerings have a chance to be above-average pitches moving forward. 

Another PBR first-timer was 6-foot-5, 185-pound, RHP Tyler Deleskiewicz, a 2022 hailing from Lake Geneva (WI). Deleskiewicz is still figuring out his extra-long frame but he has a live arm, was up to 87 mph and showed feel for his curveball. Deleskiewicz will be an arm to keep an eye on in the Badger state.

Rounding out the top three is, RHP Andrew Ressler (Huntley, 2023), a talented freshman arm at Huntley. Ressler has a well-proportioned frame, quickness in his arm, feel for pitching and fastball in the low-80’s. Ressler earned an invitation to the Underclass Invitational a few weeks after the McHenry event and impressed there as well.
