On Monday, Feb. 17, the PBR Illinois team made its annual trip to the Bo Dome to host the Lockport Preseason I.D., the largest showcase on our calendar. Over two-hundred prospects participated, representing every high school level.

Soon following the event we released early analysis with our Quick Hits and Statistical Analysis. Monday marked the start of our position-by-position breakdown, with the catchers from the event. 

Today we continue the roll-out with a breakdown of the near 75 arms from the day. With such a talented, large group, we were able to break up the rankings by grad class.

A couple of the biggest revelations from the event came on the mound, one being LHP Evan Clark (Fenwick, 2021), who made the most of his first PBR event, taking home the top spot. Clark touched 89 mph right out of the gate and creates a tough angle from a ¾ slot. His fastball sat comfortably at 85-87 mph and showed a fading changeup at 73-75 mph as his best secondary offering. 

Right behind Clark was unsigned senior RHP Cameron Demos (Downers Grove North, 2020). Demos has a strong frame and topped at 91 mph with his fastball. Everything he throws is aggressive and with effort, including a late breaking curveball at 76-79 mph and a changeup at 83-85 mph. Demos emerged as one of the top seniors in the state that is still on the market.

Another big riser from the event, was RHP Tommy Boba (Wheaton Warrenville South, 2022), who comes in at No. 3 on the list. Boba showed a big jump in velo since the fall, sitting 85-87 mph, touching 88 mph. He also showed above-average feel for his age of multiple offspeed pitches, including a curveball, slider and changeup.
