Inside The Illinois Rankings: Top '22 Uncommitted LHP's

As we prepare for the start of summer, PBR Illinois takes a look into the latest rankings release for the 2022 class. If you missed the 2022 rankings release story, you can find it, here. Today, we will highlight the top five uncommitted left-handed pitchers in the state. Many of the prospects on this list are coming off impressive winter showings and are on the rise in the class.

Body: 6-foot-0, 170-pounds. Compact, lean frame with proportional strength.
Delivery: Tall start from the right of the rubber; small side step to level knee lift, drops and drive to square landing. Works with low effort and repeats well, in rhythm.
Arm Action: LH. Long, loose, clean from a high 3/4 window.
FB: T84, 83-83 mph. Heavy feel with some hard arm-side action.
CB: 69-70 mph. 1/7 shape with short action; some feel to locate.
CH: 70-72 mph. Slight deceleration but generates above-average fade/sink with feel.

Arm Action: LH. Clean, uninterrupted arm circle. Works loose and quick out front; high 3/4 slot.
FB: T84, 82-82 mph. Controls the zone, pitches to both sides of the plate, late arm-side-run.
CB: 70-71 mph. 1/7 shape, occasional sweeping action.
CH: 71-73 mph. Advanced offering. Maintains arm speed, feel for the bottom of the zone, fade and sinking action.
