May 31, 2019
Day one of the PBR State Games - Georgia is in the books. Talent from the Southeast was well-represented, so let’s take a look at some of the standouts on day one.
Duluth Noles 17U
Dwight Allen (2020 OF, Woodward)
Georgia commit. #44 in GA 2020 rankings. 6-foot-1, 180 pounds; strong frame. Good rhythm in the box, gets to set on time. Aggressive swing, with above average bat speed. Uses lower-half well and gets good rotation with his hips. Squared up a deep SAC fly to CF. Look forward to watching as the weekend progresses.
Donye Evans (2020 RHP, Redan)
Kennesaw State commit. Ranked 22nd in GA. 6-foot-5, 195 pounds; long, lanky, yet strong frame. Has good control of body; repeats delivery. Gets good extension. Showed solid command of FB that sat 87-90,T91. FB had above average arm-side run. SL worked low and away from RHH at 72. Arm looked just as good, if not better, than we saw in the spring.
Jayce James (2020 LHP, Lakeside, AL)
6-foot-1, 167 pounds. Two-way player that showed well on both sides, tonight. Above average effort, gets most out of frame. FB: 84-85,T86. Challenges hitters on both sides of the plate. CH showed well at 71-72. Jayce showed well at the plate, hitting from an open stance. Quick hands, short barrel path to contact. Squared up on a single to LCF.
Caleb Ketchup (2020 SS, Holy Innocents’ Episcopal)
Georgia commit. #1 ranked 2020 SS in GA. Ketchup plays well above his 5-foot-9, 145 pound listing. Shows gap-to-gap power to all fields, as evidence by a triple to RF. 4.0 on the turn, with a slight hesitation. Launches from backside and has barreled balls every time we have seen him. Flashed smooth infield actions. Athleticism surely plays on both sides.
Jake Killingsworth (2020 C, Headland, AL)
5-foot-11, 210 pounds. Ranked 18th, overall, in the AL 2020 rankings. Strong build. Has plus power. Showed well at Wednesday's Top Prospect Games and carried that over to the tournament. Loose, high hands, has slow/controlled take back. Minimal stride with toe-tap timing. Has great approach. Barreled a sharply-hit single to the OF and followed it up with an opposite-field HR in his next AB. A very strong bat that will be a must-follow this summer.
Tate Marks (2020 RHP, Piedmont Academy)
5-foot-10, 165 pounds. Gets most out of frame, uses legs well. Throws from ¾ slot. FB had some late life at 86-87. Slider looks to be potential out pitch with sharp action at 70mph.

Triton Rays Georgia 17U
Chris Coll (2020 RHP, Lake Nola, FL)
Coll matched up with Boykin in what was a 1-0 loss for Coll. He went 7IP CG with only 1H and 1R. Works at face pace, good arm speed. Challenged hitters with FB at 80-82, with CB at 70-72, paired with a 75mph CH. A solid outing for both arms made for a fun game to watch.
Hardknox Orioles 17U
Caleb Logerwell (2021 CIF, Home School)
6-foot-1, 190 pounds. #4 ranked 3B in state’s ‘21 class. Confident hitter. Hunts fastballs and looks to do damage. Low hands to start, straight back load; gets extra separation from body. Uses leg kick; gets foot down in time. Has strong hands and uses middle of field well.
