AL Senior Games: Quick Hits:

 The Senior Games were held Sunday, September 9 at Faulkner University for the 2019 class. There were some impressive unsigned seniors in attendance. Some of the top performers were:

Matthew Glover (2019, SS/2B, McGill Toolen) had a very productive day in all phases of the event. Had plus actions with the glove and advanced feet. Just a competitor that made several outstanding plays at SS during the game. Also had loud BP contact and 2 well struck base hits with a BB and HBP during his at bats in the game.

John Poist (2019, SS/2B, Spain Park) another athletic middle infielder that does a lot of things well on the field. Missed his junior season with injury but look for a big senior year from him. Very instinctive in the infield with clean glove presentation, seemed to always be in good position to field. Very clean actions. Had a solid round of BP showing a gap to gap approach and also had 2 loud base hits during game play.

Jayden Sloan (2019, 2B/SS, Brewbaker Technology Magnet) physical player that showed big time pull side to middle juice in BP and very clean actions in the infield that made every play in the game. Left with a dirty uniform and will make someone a very solid player.

Traeshon Hall (2019, OF, Hueytown) an athletic, well built OF that does a good job using his strength and shows a solid swing path with gap to gap juice. Had two very impressive at bats with loud barrel.

Both catchers in attendance, Hayden Walton (2019, C, Brooks) and Ryan Willcutt (2019, C, Jasper) both showed very well with advanced athleticism. Both catchers took impressive rounds of BP and both had quality at bats during game play. They also both presented well defensively and showcased impressive catch and throw skills.

Kyran Coleman (2019, SS/OF, Inspire Academy Home School (GA)) was very clean defensively and showcased a good arm across the diamond. Created some juice at the plate with his high leg kick approach. Clean actions that knows how to play the game.

Four pitchers really stood out during game play: Brady Barnes (2019, RHP, Decatur) showcased an electric fastball up to 87 mph to go along with a late breaking tight curveball. Hudson Holley (2019, RHP, Demopolis) was very effective during his 2 innings showcasing a fast ball that topped at 83 mph to go along with a very sharp curveball and the ability to command both sides of the plate. Dalton Mesaris (2019, RHP, Alabama Christian Academy) turned some heads with his drop down arm slot and the ability to command a fast ball up to 81 mph with big time movement and a breaking ball with big time late break. His breaking ball was one of the best pitches we have seen at our events. Chance Broussard (2019, RHP/3B, Sweet Water) showed an advance feel on how to pitch with a fastball up to 84 mph and a tight breaking ball that he showed the ability to command.
