Future Games: Team Florida Quick Hits

The 2024 Prep Baseball Future Games took place July 24-27 at Lakepoint in Cartersville, GA. The event featured 32 teams made up of uncommitted players from the 2026 class. Each team went through a pro-style workout on July 24 followed by games the following three days in front of 425 college coaches.

Today we will highlight the players from Team Florida at the 2024 Future Games.

Gavin Byrd SS / 3B / LAKELAND CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, FL / 2026

6-foot-1, 182-pound infielder ran a 6.92 60 to start the week. 85 across the infield with a 94.3 EV in BP. Byrd put some good swings on the ball during gameplay resulting in some hard outs but he did find success in Game 1 with a backside double to the warning track.

 

Adolfo Camacho OF / RHP / North Broward Prep, FL / 2026

6-foot-3, 217-pound outfielder impressed with his power display at the Future Games. 94.4 EV and 76.5 average bat speed in BP. 94 mph from the outfield, and 90 from the infield. Camacho collected three hits over the three games. A single in Game 1, a 2-RBI single in Game 2, and a game-tying solo home run in Game 3.

 

Alex Edisis 1B / LHP / ESB Academy, FL / 2026

6-foot-3, 183-pound first baseman. 99.1 EV in bp with an average bat speed of 73.6. Two hits during gameplay, both 90+ off the bat. In Game 1 he singled to right and in Game 2 drove a RBI double to the warning track.

 

Tyler Ellis 1B / LHP / Trinity Christian Academy (JAX), FL / 2026

5-foot-11, 189-pound two-way excelled on both sides at the Future Games. 100.4 EV and 76.5 average bat speed in BP. Ran a 6.82 and had a RBI single and double during gameplay. On the mound, Ellis was up to 91 in a two-inning start. He struck out two batters.

 

Lyndan Flanary RHP / OF / HOLMES COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL, FL / 2026

6-foot-1, 171-pound right-hander pitched two innings in Game 1 of the Future Games. He allowed two hits and one run while striking out four. Flanary ran his fastball up to 92 mph.

 

Ty Gray SS / 3B / CHIPLEY HIGH SCHOOL, FL / 2026

6-foot-3, 170-pound infielder had a 95.8 EV in BP and was 86 across the infield in the defensive workout. Gray put some good swings together in gameplay and had a single in Game 1.

 

Austin Knierim OF / SS / Hernando, FL / 2026

Knierim played all over the field during the Future Games. Infield, outfield, and even pitched. 5-foot-11, 170 pounds. Ran a 6.85 60 and threw 97 mph from the outfield during the workout. 96.7 EV and 71.5 average bat speed in BP. Knierim didn't register any hits during gameplay but had several hard-hit balls right at defenders. He drove in a sac fly in Game 3. On the mound, Knierim worked a scoreless inning striking out one and ran the fastball up to 90.

 

Luke Labbe C / SS / Bartram Trail, FL / 2026

5-foot-11, 183-pound catcher had a strong showing at the Future Games. Ran a 6.90 60 and had a 1.80 top pop time during the showcase. 93.9 EV during BP. In game, Labbe had two singles and an RBI. He also threw out a runner from behind the plate in Game 2.

 

Joseph Lawson C / RHP / BISHOP VEROT CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL, FL / 2026

6-foot-1, 202-pound catcher left the yard repeatedly during BP up to 97.5 BP. 75.3 average bat speed with a 1.99 pop time. During gameplay, Lawson put together long, quality ABs, drawing three walks. He also stepped on the mound for two innings and struck out four with the fastball up to 90.

 

David Lee RHP / RHP / TNXL Academy, FL / 2026

6-foot-5, 200-pound right-hander closed out Game 1 of the Future Games with two scoreless innings. He ran a sinking fastball up to 87 with more to come.

 

Luke Manderson RHP / OF / Bishop Snyder, FL / 2026

6-foot, 185-pound right-hander threw two innings in relief of Game 2 of the Future Games. He allowed one run on two hits and struck out five batters. Manderson ran his fastball up to 92 mph.

  

Jordan Martinez SS / 2B / Trinity Christian Academy (JAX), FL / 2026

Martinez had a monster Future Games both hitting and pitching. 5-foot-11, 192 pounds. Martinez ran a team-best 6.67 60. He had a 106.3 EV in BP with 71.1 average bat speed. Martinex showed off big power in gameplay as well with a double to the warning track in Game 1, and a grand slam to left in Game 2. Martinez also jumped on the mound to close out Game 3 topping out at 93 mph and striking out two.

 

Ford McCarthy OF / THE BOLLES SCHOOL, FL / 2026

6-foot-1, 195-pound outfielder got up to 94 EV in BP and ran a 6.95 60 during the Future Games workout. Physical body with strength to drive the ball to all fields.

 

Charles Messina C / 1B / IMG Academy, FL / 2026

5-foot-10, 185-pound catcher swung the bat well at the Future Games. 96 EV with 73.2 average bat speed. 1.92 top pop time during the workout. Messina collected two hits and three RBI in Game 1 and was named Player of the Game. He had one more hit in Game 3 and almost left the yard on a fly out to the warning track.

 

Dylan Messina SS / 3B / IMG Academy , FL / 2026

5-foot-10, 180-pound infielder collected three hits during the Future Games. Switch hitter was up to 100.7 EV in BP and 85 across the infield during the showcase. Dylan led off Game 1 of the Future Games with a double off the left field wall. He added two more singles and an RBI during the week.

 

Parker Mitzel OF / RHP / Berkeley Prep, FL / 2026

5-foot-11, 180-pound two-way had a strong showing at the Future Games. Started with a 6.78 60 and was 93 mph from the outfield. 93.2 EV and 72 average bat speed in BP. Mitzel had an RBI double to the warning track in Game 2. In Game 1, he pitched two shutout innings allowing no hits, and struck out three. Mitzel ran his fastball up to 92 mph.

 

Cannon Murtagh OF / OF / Jesuit, FL / 2026

5-foot-10, 178-pound outfielder was an on-base threat at the Future Games. 6.72 60 and 93 from the outfield. 95.5 EV with an average bat speed of 71. Murtagh had two hits in Game 1 with an RBI. Just missed a grand slam by inches and had a few more barrels throughout the week.

 

Christopher Reali RHP / 3B / TRINITY CHRISTIAN ACADEMY, FL / 2026

6-foot, 191-pound right-hander got the start in Game 3 of the Future Games against Tennessee. He threw two innings allowing just one run while striking out five. Reali ran his fastball up to 91 mph.

 

Hector Rivera RHP / 3B / Jesuit, FL / 2026

6-foot, 180-pound right-hander worked two scoreless innings in relief of Game 3 of the Future Games. Rivera did not allow a hit in his two innings while striking out two. He allowed just one baserunner while topping 88 mph with his fastball. Rivera was named Player of the Game against Tennessee.

 

Jake Rizzo OF / C / MARJORY STONEMAN DOUGLAS HIGH SCHOOL, FL / 2026

5-foot-10, 187-pound outfielder left the yard several times during Future Games BP up to 94.7 EV. 70.5 average bat speed and was 87 mph from the outfield.

 

Yavier Rosendo SS / 2B / TNXL Academy, FL / 2026

6-foot-1, 178-pound shortstop had himself a big week at the Future Games. 99 EV in BP, 86 across the infield. In-game, he collected a hit in each game. Hit a solo homer to dead center in Game 1. Singled up the middle with two strikes in Game 2. Delivered the go-ahead double in Game 3. Rosendo was outstanding all around and made every play that came to him in the infield as well.

 

Frankie Russo RHP / OF / ESB Academy, FL / 2026

6-foot-4, 195-pound right-hander pitched two scoreless innings in Game 3 of the Future Games against Tennessee. He ran the fastball up to 90 mph. He allowed two hits, no runs, and struck out three batters.

 

Brady Snow RHP / 2B / American Heritage (Delray), FL / 2026

5-foot-11, 169-pound right-hander pitched in relief of Game 2 of the Future Games against Georgia. Snow filled the zone with the fastball up to 89 mph. He allowed just one run in two innings while striking out two.

 

Ricky Stegbauer OF / 3B / OSCEOLA FUNDAMENTAL HIGH, FL / 2026

5-foot-11, 171-pound outfielder ran a 6.97 to start the Future Games. He threw 90 mph from the outfield and had a 93.7 EV. No hits on the stat sheet but collected two RBI and put together several quality ABs and swings throughout the week.

 

Kaden Waechter RHP / SS / Jesuit, FL / 2026

6-foot-1, 177-pound two-way was one of the most impressive players at the Future Games, especially on the mound. 6.78 60 to start the week and 89 across the infield. 101.2 EV and 72.3 average bat speed in BP. Collected a single and two RBI in gameplay. On the mound, Waechter started Game 2 against Georgia. He threw two innings allowing just one run while striking out four. He ran his fastball up to 92 mph.
