Prep Baseball Report

Unsigned Senior Spotlight: C Isaac Ferrer

Rocco Iervasi
Florida Director of Operations/Area Scout

Our goal at Prep Baseball Report is to promote high school players, and give them the exposure they need to be able to play at the next level. With the 2020 high school season in limbo, we want to continue to be able to promote players, even when baseball is not being played. This spring, we will be spotlighting several uncommitted seniors to help them get the exposure they need to play at the next level in 2021.

Next up is uncommitted 2020 C Isaac Ferrer (Calvary Christian Academy). Ferrer is an athletic catcher who has stood out at several PBR events in the past. Aggressive hitter that handles a very talented pitching staff at Calvary Christian. Ferrer is ranked No. 197 in the PBR Florida Class of 2020 rankings.

The pop times weren’t the best we have seen and his best of the day was 2.15, but you can see the arm strength and transfer, he topped out at 76 mph. Offensively, he was a bit out of sync in BP, but when he gets his load on time, he uses his strong lower half well and attacks the baseball. Made consistent contact and showed a feel for the barrel with multiple lines drives to the pull side and left-centerfield gap during batting practice.
