Scout Notes
John Rodriguez, SS, Douglas (2018)
Florida International recruit. The athletic shortstop flew out twice before getting a soft hit single. He has a big leg kick and swings with aggression and present bat speed. Light on his feet, with athletic, rangy actions at short.
Coby Mayo, 3B, Douglas (2020)
UCF recruit. Long, lanky projectable frame. Really stacked on the backside offensively, but has present bat speed. Leverage with power potential. Would like to see him more upright, but there is high offensive potential.
Hunter Fitz-Gerald, 3B/1B, Douglas (2019)
XL frame, lean with present strength. The left handed-hitter was 2-3 with an RBI. The swing works, compact for the XL frame. Turns the barrel and some natural loft. The bat projects as power corner bat and should be a high, uncommitted follow.
Shane Marshall, C, Gulf Coast (2018)
Georgia recruit. Lean, athletic catcher with strong lower half. Solid average defensive catcher. Some stiffness, but hands work with average arm, 2.0-2.1 pop times. Offensively, was 0-2 with F8 and 6-3 groundout. There is some length, but present strength and bat speed. Power potential. Follow
Drake Dobyanski, OF, Gulf Coast (2018)
FGCU recruit. Twitchy athlete and above average runner. Above average arm in center with plenty of range. Short compact swing with a feel for the barrel. Stayed on the barrel, consistent hard contact. Spark-plug top of the order, high on-base guy with high contact low swing and miss.
