Litsch's Lookback: Week 10
April 28, 2021
Litsch’s Lookback is a weekly segment that takes a look back at the standouts from that week around the state of Florida. The entire PBR Florida staff and myself will be out for coverage at High School, JUCO, and NCAA baseball games each week. We will highlight the biggest standouts from the games we saw that week.
This past week we had high school and JUCO coverage across the state of Florida. We had JUCO coverage in Clearwater as well as high school coverage in Orlando, Bradenton, Miami, and St. Petersburg. We also had a few standouts from our Junior Future Series Spring Classic in Winter Haven. Take a look at the players who stood out to myself and the rest of our staff this past week.
Jesse Litsch
Marc Davis, RHP, Florida Southwestern State College
Davis is super athletic, with quick twitch actions and decent mechanics. He pounds the zone with a 3 pitch mix and shows a repeatable delivery and arm slot. His fastball is hard and heavy and sits 92-95 MPH, this works well with his changeup and devastating swing and miss curveball. He shows great mound presence and likes to compete, there is tons of upside here.
2022 Jorge Santana III, RHP, Sunlake
The University of South Florida commit looked the part this week in a huge district playoff game. Although not many innings on the season, he came out and dealt for 4 innings. He pounded the zone with a hard sinking fastball that was up to 90 MPH and used his curveball very effectively, which had good late action and was his put away pitch. Showed clean mechanics with a live loose arm.
2023 Kenneth Robinson, RHP, Dixie Hollins
An intriguing young arm here. In a huge district playoff game he consistently pounded the zone and pitched to both sides of the plate effectively keeping hitters off balance. He showcased a 3 pitch mix which consisted of a fastball that was up to 85 MPH with natural cutting action, a fading changeup and a nice sweeping curveball. Showed a short/quick arm with repeatable mechanics and good composure.
