2/7/20:Davis possesses a wiry, quick-twitch frame that creates tension in the upper body to maximize arm speed. Listed at 6-foot-3, 175 pounds, he has the body type necessary to maximize his potential on the mound. At times he can rush the arm, but the head tilt helps him get it over consistently with above average arm speed. When the command is there,Davisis electric with his fastball sitting in the low-90s, topping at 93 with a high spin rate slider at 76-79 mph that he is only getting more comfortable with as it flirts with the low 80s in the early innings. He is committed toPittsburgh.
10/23/19- Davis stood out this weekend as one of the best arms in attendance. Facing hitters only helped the Florida Southwestern product with multiple swings and misses on a very sharp, late breaking slider at 78-79 mph and running his fastball up to 93 mph. The arm is clean and loose which bodes well for efficiency. He also has a repeatable delivery with an over the top release conducive to that power breaking ball.
