November 11, 2017
Following a busy fall of PBR events and the WWBA fall champinonships in Florida it is time to roll out our final update of the 2017 calendar year to our Class of 2020 rankings. This update includes the addition of 25 prospects with the list growing to a total of 55. Biggest mover
The biggest mover in this update is Spring-Ford High School RHP/OF Cooper Webb, who excelled at the recent Elite Prospect Showcase. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound primary pitcher has a mature frame. Webb has made a significant jump in velocity since we last saw him in August at the Fall Kickoff Showcase. On that date Webb sat 82-84. Two months later, Webb sat 86-88 while bumping 89 mph. While the fastball is relatively straight he does create some angles with a bit of crossfire action from a high 3/4 arm slot. Curveball at 68-69 showed tight, 12/6 rotation. Also commanded a cutter at 72-74 and a changeup at 73-76 in his four-pitch mix. The two-way prospect ran a 7.27 60-yard dash and flashed 88 mph arm strength from the outfield. The left-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and utilizes a lift-and-replace stride to initiate his swing. Stays inside the baseball well and showed an above average feel for the barrel with a bat exit velocity of 84 mph. Webb has since been added to the Team Pennsylvania roster as a right-handed pitcher for the 2018 PBR Future Games.
