Justin Burgess
Florida Area Scout

This week we have dug through the top 200 2016 rankings for Florida and came up with a group of players who have really shown well this summer and have the talent to plat at the division I level. These last players who will be recognized will finalize a group of young men who make up some of the best, if not the best, remaining uncommitted players in the state.

Chris Demayo LHP, Martin County HS 2016
Demayo is currently ranked at number 98 in the 2016 class in Florida. Standing at 6 foot, 150 pounds, Chris Possesses a lean, athletic, and projectable body. He is a quick twitch player and works fast but stays under control in his delivery. He has a good lower half drive and gets extension out front. His fastball sits 84-86 mph but he has touched 88 mph. The slider is 78-79 mph and his changeup is 77 mph. He attacks the zone and throws all 3 pitches for strikes and gets outs. Demayo will be a great asset at the next level as his velocity should increase even more and he is a definite division I prospect.

Nicholas Baldor INF/OF/RHP, Tampa Jesuit 2016
Ranked at number 99 in the state of Florida, Baldor stands at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds with an athletic, strong body and strength in his bat. He has a gap to gap approach with average ML power and his swing has some length with a good path. Nicholas stays inside the ball with a solid approach and he possesses some quickness with a loose bat. His overall game will continue to improve with added strength. He shows decent actions with a solid average ML arm. Baldor is an average ML runner (6.9-7.0 in the 60). He can also pitch and sits 86-88 mph off the mound. Nicholas is an athletic two way player who has the ability to play division I baseball.
