The PBRT 17U Florida Summer Championships continued Friday, July 1st at Twin Lakes Park in Sarasota with action from the 17U divisions. The event is four days long with champions decided on Sunday. Each day we will highlight standouts with a daily scout blog. Take a look at Day 2's notes.

6-foot, 175 pounds. Alvarez looks to have made a jump. Added strength. Clean, loose arm action. Fastball up to 86 and shows feel for the breaking ball. Uncommitted ‘23 arm to follow. FB: 84-86CB: 73-75

Blake Brookins OF / Miami Palmetto, FL / 2023Florida recruit. Uber projectable frame at 6-foot-5, 210 pounds. Creates leverage with an uphill path as he launched a double to the RC gap. Has displayed a mature approach and overall above average actions this week. High follow 2023.

P. Alex Sosa C / Viera, FL / 2023NC State recruit showed well behind the plate. Sturdy, projectable frame. Quick feet with clean actions moving towards the targe. Fluid arm action w/ zip, on target. Left handed bat, works deep counts, finds barrel when he gets his pitch.

Jake Weatherspoon C / 3B / Melbourne, FL / 20236-foot-1, 190 pounds. Physical frame. Strong/quick hands working directly to the ball with some juice in the tank. Launched a 3B into the deep pull side gap.
