2021 Future Games Spotlight: Hunter Gotschall

The 2021 PBR Future Games has come and gone. The event featured the top uncommitted 2023 and 2024 players around the country representing their home state in front of over 350+ college coaches. Team Colorado had high energy and talented squad who showcased their abilities all week. Team Colorado went 3-0 with wins over PBR Select, Oklahoma and Utah. Just as impressive, was our players' individual GPA’s. Their futures are bright as the true definition of student-athletes.

Today, we highlight: Hunter Gotschall.
2023, Hunter Gotschall, RHP, Calhan, (Colorado Yard Dogs) Strong with broad shoulders. Has developed to a repeatable delivery with great tempo and attack. Has slight hip rotation and dip/drive. Creates good leverage with front side. Over the top release. Fastball 85-89, uses both sides of plate. ++ Slider 75-77, two plane with late break. Hunter continues to improve and does not show signs of slowing down. High ceiling arm!

Athletic looking set up on the left side of the mound, small side step into a back foot toe tap. High, controlled leg lift with coil, does a good job hinging his back hip to create velocity, finishes closed. Quick, whippy arm action, does a good job attacking all pitches. FB up to 87. CB 66-68. Hit: Right-Handed hitter, slightly open set up into a small leg lift that lands neutral, very minimal hand movement on stride, does a good job staying on plane, controlled, athletic swing with a high two handed finish. Athletic build with a projectable frame.
Exit Velo: 88
Power: Gap-to-gap approach, will use the whole field to hit for average.
Arm: OF, 89 from the outfield, long, athletic arm action.
Defense: Does a good job attacking the ball with strong footwork, soft hands when fielding, does a good job using his legs to create arm strength.
