We invite you to get to know them through the eyes of our Prep Baseball California staff of scouts both through our in person looks at players and/or the data-backed numbers collected at our events with our partnered companies. TrackMan, Blast Motion, Swift Performance, and Visual Edge provide comparable data to project and evaluate players. All of these systems come together to give a clear picture at what colleges will get when a players steps onto their campus.

Today, we put the spotlight on the number 11 ranked player in the 2026 class in SoCal '26 RHP/OF Gary Morse from Orange Lutheran High School. With an intriguing frame with long limbs, high hips, wiry present strength with projection to it at 6'7 190 lbs. with a starter pitchers profile. Morse has consistently performed across the board for the Prep Baseball California staff including being a part of the 2023 Future Games with Team California and at the 2024 Prep Baseball Preseason All State event where he stood out on the mound and even flashed some interesting tools at the plate. During the Preseason All State event Morse was preparing for his Soph. campaign in the Trinity League where he displayed his 3 pitch mix highlighted by a FB/CB combo that feature swing miss action and the emergence of his CHG which he continued to improve throughout the spring. His FB was up to 90.7 MPH on Trackman while sitting at 89-90 MPH throughout his appearance 2300+ RPM spin rates at the peak. The CB came in as high as 80.7 MPH with power to the break and while sitting in the upper 70's. Morse added the CHG which came in at 80 MPH consistently with feel to kill spin and create fade/sink in the movement profile. During batting practice session Morse also put on a display with his RH swing which saw him peak at 102.3 MPH on exit velocity with HR power to the pull side of the field, but hitting is the side act to his abilities as one of the top uncommitted RHP's in the '26 class nationally.. With his abundance of tools on the mound, athletic delivery, arm speed, control of the strike zone and projection Morse was a key piece pitching at a high level in game this spring for the CIF-SS D1 semifinalist Lancers program program. Morse made 12 appearances going 6-2 with an eye popping 1.18 ERA this spring while facing down elite competition within the state of California and nationally. In addition to the front line stats his performance stats were as enticing with 59.1 IP, 45 Ks, only 35 hits allowed of which just 1 was a HR, and walked 17 hitters. The ceiling for Morse is very high as one of the best RHPs in the state & nationally. As he continues to mature and develop as a player to go with his already stellar performance Morse has a chance to contiunue to increase the level of his performance and his profile over the course of his final 2 years of high school/travel baseball.
