NorCal Player of the Week

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - The weather has started to heat up and as such, we are starting to see some big time pitchers post big time stat lines. Last week it was 2024 RHP Austin Nye with a 17 K game that earned NorCal Player of the Week. This week, that strikeout total was topped by 2023 LHP Josh Morano (Arizona commit) of Granada HS (#24 this week in our Power 25).

On Tuesday 4/18 the Matadors took on league rival Dublin HS, with Morano getting the start. He proceeded to mow down a solid Dublin Gaels team, completing a 3-0 shutout in 106 pitches. He struck out 18 batters while giving up only three singles and one walk. The Matadors look to be a legitimate threat to De La Salle in the East Bay Athletic League and looking forward, also in the CIF-NCS D1 playoffs, in large part due to their pair senior hurlers (in addition to Morano, they have 2023 Jason Krakoski, Cal State Fullerton commit).

As such, we have selected 2023 LHP Josh Morano of Granada HS as the NorCal Player of the Week for the week of April 17th - April 22nd, 2023.
