Game Notes: Mira Costa v St. John Bosco

Les Lukach
State Scouting Director

BELLFLOWER, CA. - Mira Costa took to the road to face off against St. John Bosco in Newport Elks tournament game that featured two Division I starting pitchers along with plenty of other Division I college commitments all over the field.

Behind a two-hit gem from LHP David Hays (Nevada) St. John Bosco mustered enough offense to pull out the win 1-0 and advance in the tournament and spoiling a very strong start for start for senior Jared Karros (UCLA) who had been cruising up to that point.

Junior third baseman Coby Morales drove in what proved to be the winning run off an 86 mph fastball away that he drove into left field to score Hays who reached on a hit by pitch earlier in the inning.

Inside are scouting notes and video along with some game notes on 10 players - several of them uncommitted.
