October 16, 2017
Jordon Banfield
Arizona Scouting Director
We at PBR Arizona are excited to release our initial class of 2018 top 30 state rankings. The top four prospects in the state were also featured in our recently released PBR Draft 100. The Arizona rankings feature the nation's top overall draft prospect in LHP Matthew Liberatore (Mountain Ridge), followed by 3B Nolan Gorman (O'Connor), SS Jonathan Ornelas (Kellis) and RHP Ian Mejia (Sahuarita). Liberatore, Gorman and Mehia are committed to Arizona, Ornelas to Tennessee. They are joined in the top 10 by three Arizona State commits and one each to Grand Canyon and Utah. OF Brennen Davis (Basha) is the state's highest ranked prospect who has yet to make a verbal commitment.
In the coming weeks we will also be releasing rankings for the classes of 2019, 2020 and 2021. If we haven't had a chance to see you play you can sign up for our upcoming Fall Prospect Showcase, October 29th at the Kansas City Royals Complex in Surprise for a chance to be seen. As always PBR will also be out scouting all of the major upcoming events. If you have any commitment or other relevant information please don't hesitate to reach out to [email protected] or @PBRArizona on Twitter.
