On January 23^rd, we hosted our Winter Unsigned Senior Showcase at Extra Innings of Little Rock. The event had some talented players in the event. Below you will find my write ups on the outfielders that attended.

2015 Jax Burgess, OF Greenwood HS

Burgess is a 6-foot-2 170-pound outfielder with a large frame and an athletic build. Offensively he starts from a tall stance with smooth load. He attacks the baseball with fast bat speed with a line drive swing. He produced exit velocity of 88 mph. Defensively he works through the baseball with fluid footwork and a quick exchange. He threw the ball 78 mph accurately from the outfield. He runs a 3.97 home to first. Overall Burgess is a physical athlete with bat speed, he will refine his skills as he focuses on baseball moving forward.

 

2015 Hunter Cardwell, OF Greenwood HS

Cardwell is a 5-foot-5 125-pound outfielder with an athletic frame and a small build. He runs a 4.03 home to 1^st. Defensively he throws with a short arm action from a low ¾ arm slot at 68 mph with accuracy. He works through the baseball with fluid footwork and a smooth exchange. Offensively he starts from a tall stance with a slight load. He attacks the baseball with a line drive swing that gets in and out of the hit zone. He produces exit velocities up to 75 mph. Overall Cardwell showed good defensive instincts with a good athleticism.

 

2015 Wesley Williams OF Jacksonville HS

Williams is a 5-foot-7 150-pound outfielder with an athletic frame and build. Defensively he worked through the baseball with choppy footwork and fluid exchange. He throws the ball 76 mph from the outfield with accuracy. Offensively he starts from an athletic stance with a slight load. He has a rotational swing that showed pop to the pull side. He produced exit velocity 83 mph. Overall Williams is a solid high school player with solid defensive skills.
