The Year in Review: No. 11 2A State Tournament

The 2A State Tournament was hosted by Marked Tree High School. Ouachita High School won their schools second baseball state championship. They defeated Magnet Cove 4-1 in the Finals that were hosted at Baum Stadium on the campus of the University of Arkansas.

Ouachita HS rode a great pitching performance by 2016 RHP/MIF Logan Huneycutt to beat Magnet Cove HS 4-1 in the 2A finals. Huneycutt dominated the game pitching 7 innings allowing just 3 hits, striking out 7 while allowing just one walk. The lone run scored by Magnet Cove was unearned.
2016 CIF Alex Volz led the offense for the Warriors going 3-3 with an RBI. 2015 Hunter McDade also had two RBI’s on a hit, and Huneycutt helped his cause driving in the other run.
