Quickhits: Arkansas ProCase

Brian Walker
Arkansas Scouting Director

The Arkansas ProCase featured several break out players even though mother nature tried to get in the way. Several players boosted their numbers from previous workouts along with impressing the Major League Scouts that were on hand. Here are a few players that stood out from yesterday's workouts.

2018:

RHP- Treshon Paschal (Har-Ber)had a break out day in his simulated innings striking out 4 of the 5 hitters he faced with electric stuff. Fb was 88-91 to go along with a 77-78 Change-up, and a 77-78 Curveball. Low mileage arm, Paschal will be one to follow as he begins his career at Crowder College in the fall

RHP- Will Richardson, (Woodlawn) Showed advanced pitchability adding and subtracting from his Fastball throwing anywhere from 80-88 giving the hitters fits. Showed ability to sink the ball and then run a 4 seam to his glove side. Two types of slrve adding and subtracting anywhere from 72-77. Richardson also showed a changeup with heavy sink at the plate at 77-78.

2019:

C- Cason Tollett (LRCA), Pro prospect behind the plate doing everything easy. Arm strength with pure carry when he throws. Simple receiving with easy actions. Offensively showed power with repeatable swing. Showed power to all fields in bp.

LHP- Zack Morris, (Cabot) Electric fastball and command of it. Fastball ranged 88-92. Showed feel for high spin breaking ball at 73-76. Change up was inconsistent to arm side but had run at 80-82. Repeated delivery with physical frame. A big time LHP that caught attention of scouts in attendance.

2020:

INF/RHP- Cayden Wallace, (Greenbrier) athletic infielder who showed good running speed to go along with his arm strength and power at the plate. Cayden took a loud batting practice by being one of two hitters to leave the yard in batting practice. On the mound Cayden showed arm strength with a potential swing and miss slider. Fastball was 88-90.  Effort to the delivery but power and stuff makes him a dynamite back end guy.

1B- Luke Pectol, (Robinson) good framed player with athletic body. Simple swing but has power to the pull side. Showed good actions at first with plenty of projection to the body as he continues to fill out.  Big power to his frame in the future as Pectol stands to be a big bat in the 2020 class.

RHP- Tyler Cacciatori,(Sheridan) heavy sink with swing and miss slider. Fastball sat 86-88. Difficult low ¾ arm slot with bowling ball type heaviness at the plate. Deceptive delivery with arm strength. Slider was 72-78 as he varied looks with different breaks for strikes and for swing and miss.

2021:

OF- Braylon Bishop, (Ashdown) showed advanced feel for the barrel with a big body. Showed average arm with good defensive actions. Present power with plenty of room to grow. Ran a 7.1 which should trend better with strength as he has shows easy running skills.

SS- Payton Allen, (Bentonville) athletic actions with gap to gap power to go along with a repeatable swing. Showed athleticism running a 6.85, 60. Physical build as a 2021 but room to the body to continue to add strength. Showed carry with his throws with active feet.
