Quick Hits NW Arkansas Underclass Trials
June 15, 2018
Initial thoughts from our third underclass trials workout, this one being the Northwest Arkansas location at Farmington High School Tuesday June 12th. Here's some quick hit thoughts of some performances that stood out. The staff is currently compiling all the notes to begin our breakdown of this event.
2020
2020 OF/LHP Walker Williams showed as a legit two player, outfielder with arm strength, left handed hitter with repeated swing with power in the bat, and LHP with advanced feel for three pitches.
2020 RHP/SS Seth Adams RHP made a big jump as his fastball got up to 86 and he commanded three pitches with shape and athleticism to delivery.
2020 RHP Jace Presley from Greenwood looks like a mature young man standing at 6-Foot-5. Threw three pitches for a strike and has the frame and arm action to fill out and make a big jump.
2020 RHP Tate Busey an athletic RHP with projection to body and delivery, ran his fastball up to 84 with more in the tank
2020 RHP/SS Bryson Rhoodes showed a quick arm with arm strength as he impressed in his bullpen session and should be a mover in the 2020 class with his frame and projectability.
2020 OF/LHP Drew Sturgeon an interesting two way player as he has arm strength up to 89 in the outfield and shows signs of it translating on the mound as well as bat speed and athleticism at the plate.
2020 OF Mason Dagley offensively had a great round of batting practice showing feel for the barrel with repeatable swing.
2021
2021 SS/RHP Tate Sutton another two way prospect showed athleticism all over the park. Command on the mound and solid defensive skills in the field along with feel for barrel at the plate.
2021 Catcher Pierson Gunnell advanced catch and throw as he threw the fastest time at event. Offensively showed power with middle approach.
2021 OF Eli Reichert picks up the fastest time in the 60 running a 6.89 only one of two times below 7.0.
2022
2022 Clark Jenkins had impressive BP hitting the ball solid consistently to all fields. Also showed arm strength from the outfield.
2022 OF/RHP Cooper Dossett was electric on the mound running his fastball up to 85. Quick arm with life to fastball, an arm that could be a future flamethrower for Har-Ber HS.
2022 Ethan Fender on the mound showed an advanced feel for breaking ball that had shape and power to it. At the plate he hit line drives all over cage with repeatable swing and power pull side.
