Eastern Oklahoma lands two Arkansas commits. 2017 RHP/CIF David Vilches committed to Eastern Oklahoma, followed by 2017 MIF Ryan Flake.
Vilches is a physical player that has flashed some high level ability as both a position player and on the mound. He has been plagued by injuries over the last two years, if he can stay helathy Eastern maybe getting the steal of the 2017 class.
Flake attended our All-State Games in late October, he showed his consistent self. A premium defender with an accurate arm and an advanced offensive approach. Below is my full report on Flake.
Ryan Flake MIF Greenbrier HS
Flake is a 6-foot 180-pound middle infielder with an athletic frame and build. He is a polished defender with smooth footwork and soft hands as he plays through the baseball. He has a quick exchange and throws the ball 80 mph across the infield. Offensively he attacks the baseball with a compact line drive swing that allows him to hit the ball the other way on a consistent basis. He produced exit velocities up to 86 mph. Overall Flake is a solid middle infielder, as he adds strength his entire game and athleticism should improve.
