The PBRT West Florida Select continued at IMG Academy with action all day from the Upperclass and Underclass Divisions. The tournament will last four days with a winner in each division determined on Monday. Today, we will take a look at our Scout Notes from Day 2 at the West Florida Select. See who stood out to our PBR Florida Scouts.

Michael Bollinger Jr. C / RHP / St. Thomas Aquinas, FL / 2023Rankings StateRank: 139 / POS: 21
Uncommitted 2023. Athletic 5-foot-11, 195 pound frame. Like what Bollinger showed in relief for the Swarm. Fastball sat 83-85 T86. Three innings in relief allowing an unearned run while striking out four.

Cooper Consiglio LHP / 1B / East Lake, FL / 2023The Hawaii commit has made a jump since the fall of 2020. Maintained mature mound presence, has added arm strength getting up to 89 mph with the ability to throw a 4 pitch mix for K’s. High follow. FB: 85-89CB: 69-70 SL: 79-81 CH: 79-80

Roman Corinti 3B / RHP / Tampa Catholic, FL / 2024Rankings StateRank: 66 / POS: 10
Corinti continues to show the ability to attack both sides of the plate and generate soft contact. Clean, loose arm action showing feel to spin the CB. Velo will come as he matures & gets stronger. Cruised through 4 shutout innings but ran into some trouble in the 5th. Battled through and held on for the win. FB: 77-80CB: 64-68

Carter Dierdorf 1B / LHP / Out-Of-Door Academy, FL / 2022Stocky, physical frame and shows an aggressive approach at the plate. Stays within himself but fires the backside with a compact swing and creates some loud contact when he squares it up. Lined balls in multiple at bats. Uncommitted

Strong framed 1B continues to show pull side power. Two hits on the day including a triple that was smoked to right field one hopping the fence. Offensive upside is tremendous. Uncommitted.

Ethan Frame C / 3B / Tampa Prep, FL / 2024Lean, athletic catcher who shows advanced actions from behind the plate. Offensively has a simple line drive swing. Was able to jump on a fastball driving it over the left fielder for a double. On base twice and scored two runs.

Kamron Gelwick OF / SS / Keswick Christian, FL / 2022Rankings StateRank: 300 / POS: 47
Gelwick continues to swing a hot bat, going 3-3 on the day with 4 RBI’s. The big blow came in the 3rd inning when he went well over the left field fence for a 2-run home run. Shows fast hands and a loose level swing and generates tons of bat speed.

Andres Gonzalez OF / RHP / Braddock, FL / 2023Gonzalez shows above average actions at the plate with fast hands and great barrel control. He gets the foot down and has a good tempo.

Dylan Higham OF / RHP / Newsome, FL / 2023Uncommitted 2023 had himself a game Saturday afternoon. On base three times including a single early. Came up in the bottom of the 7th and delivered a walk-off double to give the Warriors a 6-5 win.

Sam Hunter 2B / SS / Calvary Christian , FL / 2022Hunter continues to impress at the dish going 1-2 with 2 BB. Shows a smooth consistent approach at the dish. Gets barrel to the ball with ease and sprays to all fields.

Anthony Lebrum LHP / Strawberry Crest, FL / 2021Uncommitted 2021. 6-foot-1, 170 pound frame. Started on the mound for the Chargers and was very effective through 4 innings. Gave up two runs on three hits while striking out seven batters. Fastball sat 78-80 mph.

Cole Loftis RHP / 3B / Hayden, AL / 2022Rankings StateRank: 149 / POS: 42
Loftis tossed a complete game shutout going 7 IP, 2 H, 15 K’s. FB/SL combo, FB had consistent natural running action getting on hitters late, 10/4 shape on SL that flashed bite. FB: 86-88SL: 70-72 CH: 78-80

Matthew Nelson RHP / Sickles, FL / 2023Nelson came in relief for SWFL and held 1st Round Pro scoreless. Fastball sat 80-84 with a 75 mph changeup. Nelson threw 3.1 innings allowing no runs with one strikeout.

Eli Rodriguez RHP / Sickles, FL / 2023Uncommitted 2023 got the start for SWFL in a pitchers duel. Stocky, strong 5-foot-11, 218 pound frame. Threw the first three innings for SWFL allowing no runs and no hits while striking out 4. Fastball sat 82-84.

Evan Rodriguez SS / St. Joseph Academy, FL / 2022Uncommitted 2022. Lean athletic frame. Leadoff hitter for Coastal Premier helped set the tone for the offense. Balanced athletic swing led to two doubles Saturday.

Zachary Root LHP / 1B / Fort Myers , FL / 2022Root showed signs of the above average stuff with a FB that ran up to 88 mph. Showed late arm side run and decent spin. Evan Walker OF / Oakleaf, FL / 2023Walker is a long athlete with a chance to fill out and add strength. Controlled load with a concise swing in the box. Pulls the hands in well and gets extended consistently.

Malachi Witherspoon C / RHP / Fletcher , FL / 2022Athletic two-way with short, quick arm action registering the save with 3 K’s over 1 IP. FB up to 91 mph at 2650 rpm spin rate. FB: 88-91CB: 75-77 CH: 78-81
