Standouts from the AHSAA Playoffs

This weekend's AHSAA playoffs certainly did not disappoint. Some of the players that had outstanding days to help their teams advance:
Trent Avery, 2018 Mobile Christian, hit two homeruns Saturday to help his team defeat Opp and move on in the playoffs. For the series, he had three homeruns. Ethan Hearn, 2019 (Mississippi State commit) and Luke Jones, 2018 also homered for Mobile Christian.
Jeremiah Jackson, 2018 St. Luke's (Mississippi State signee), struck out 8 on the mound and was 3-3 at the plate with a grand slam to help his team move past Cottonwood.
Brady Garcia, 2021 scattered 4 hits and struck out four in Game 1 to get the win.
Ed Johnson, 2018 Hewitt Trussville HS (Auburn signee), making his first career start on the mound went 7 innings as the Huskies outlasted Hoover in one of the premier matchups in the state. Johnson also added a 2B at the plate. Carson Skipper, 2018 (Auburn signee) got the complete game win in Game 2 giving up only 3 hits with 13 strikeouts. He also was 2-4 at the plate.
Tyler Duskin, 2018 Hazel Green HS (Freed Hardeman signee) hit a big homerun in Game 1 and started Game 2 on the mound and struck out 11 in a complete game as the Trojans eliminated Austin.
Jackson Reece, 2019 James Clemens HS, allowed just 6 hits in 6 IP in Game 2 as his Jets were able to sweep Mountain Brook. Laken Lansdell, 2018 (University of North Alabama signee) picked up the win in Game 1. Tommy Crider, 2018 (Belmont signee) had a multiple hit day for the Jets.
Helena's 1-2 punch on the mound of Richard Fitts, 2018 (Auburn signee) and Landon Green, 2018 (Alabama signee) both threw complete game shutouts as Helena moved past Opelika.
