Today we take a look at the 10 infielders from the PBR at the Hank in our final scout blog from the event. There were numerous impressive infielders from the 2021 through 2024 classes at the event. Several of those infielders also tossed an inning from the mound during gameplay. Below is an individual analysis on each infielder present at the event. 

 

INFIELDERS

Gavin Weinshenker (2024, SS/3B, Mobile Christian) 

5-foot-9, 130-pound athletic frame. During batting practice, Weinshenker clocked an exit velocity of 82 mph. Has a balanced stance. Bat speed is efficient and exhibits simple swing plane. He Barreled up some balls during his round. Line drive approach. In the infield, his best throw was registered at 74 mph; had consistent footwork and consistent hands. Showed a high ¾ slot and consistent accuracy to the bag. Established speed as one of his strengths with an efficient 60 time of 6.99. 

Matthew Dalton Baggett (2022, RHP/2B, Faith Academy) 

5-foot-7, 155-pound physical frame. During batting practice, Baggett had a max exit velocity of 85 mph. Showed a smooth load. Bat speed is quick, exhibits uphill swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Line drive approach. While in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 72 mph; fluid exchange. Had a quick arm action and decent accuracy to the base. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 8.02. On the mound, pitches from a ¾ angle. Uses some effort in his delivery. Lands soft with a clean finish. Produced a fastball that came in at 76-77 mph and topped out at 78 mph; showed control in the zone. He shows late action and command low in the zone on his 11/5 curveball (65-66). 

Cason Eubanks (2022, SS/2B, Northside Methodist) 

5-foot-8, 165-pound athletic frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter's 91 mph exit velocity showed his ability to drive the ball with power. Starts in an athletic stance with a smooth load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed was above average, and displayed upward swing plane. He Produced tons of loud contact and found multiple barrels. Gap to gap approach. In the infield, his best throw was recorded at 84 mph; showed athletic feet and soft hands. Had consistent accuracy. Established speed as one of his strengths with an efficient 60 time of 6.77. 

Cameron Warren (2024, SS/OF, Saraland)

5-foot-10, 155-pound athletic frame. At the plate, Warren's best exit velocity was 87 mph. Uses a leg kick to initiate his swing. Bat speed is some and shows level swing plane. Created a lot of loud contact during the round. Gap to gap approach. In the infield, displayed a velocity of 81 mph; has consistent hands and consistent feet. Using a quick arm action, showed consistent accuracy to the bag from a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.26. On the mound, has a ¾ arm angle and a quick arm action. Showed some effort in his delivery. Sat with his fastball at 79-81 mph and topped out at 82 mph; has running action and decent control. Throws a 11/5 curveball (64-69) that has tight action. Had arm side control and fading action on his changeup (69-70). 

Jacob Jernigan (2022, 3B/RHP, Saint Pauls) 

6-foot, 180-pound sturdy frame. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter showed power in the box with an exit velocity of 89 mph. Setup was comprised of tall stance and a small leg kick. Has quick bat speed and uphill swing plane. Found lots of barrels with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. In the infield, his position velocity was registered at 79 mph; showed soft hands. Had a high ¾ slot and consistent accuracy to the bag. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.81. On the mound, threw his fastball 70-72 mph with a max of 73 mph; shows control in the zone. His curveball (64-65) has late action and low in the zone control. 

Gavin Giles (2022, 3B/1B, Satsuma) 

5-foot-8, 215-pound. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter displayed an exit velocity of 91 mph, showing his strength and power ability. During setup, has a smooth load and a leg kick. Had uphill swing plane, and his bat speed was efficient. He found some barrels in his round. In the infield, his position velocity was registered at 62 mph; had developing footwork. Showed a ¾ slot and decent accuracy to the bag. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 8.79.

Blake Smith (2023, SS/RHP, Spanish Fort) 

5-foot-7, 135-pound. During batting practice, Smith recorded an exit velocity of 84 mph. Setup is comprised of a controlled load and balanced stance. Bat speed is efficient and uses level swing plane. He Barreled up multiple balls throughout the round. Base hit approach. While in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 77 mph; has a clean exchange and soft hands. Showed a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.56. On the mound, threw his fastball 72-73 mph and topped out at 74 mph; shows command in the zone and running action. His curveball (59-62) shows sweeping action.

Ethan Plank (2022, SS/RHP, Springwood) 

5-foot-11, 170-pound mature frame. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter showed power in the box with an exit velocity of 93 mph. Setup is comprised of quiet stance and a controlled load. Bat speed is efficient and shows uphill swing plane. He found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Gap to gap approach. In the infield, displayed a velocity of 76 mph; had athletic footwork and consistent hands. Had consistent accuracy to the base and a quick arm action. Clocked a time of 7.32 in the 60-yard dash. 

Hunter Vaughn (2024, RHP/2B, Satsuma) 

5-foot-10, 121-pound slim frame. In the box, Vaughn had an exit velocity of 76 mph. Started in a balanced stance and had a short stride. Had level swing plane, and his bat speed was some. Found a few barrels during his rounds. Base hit approach. In the infield, his best throw was registered at 72 mph; showed average footwork. Showed some accuracy. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 8.58. On the mound, threw his fastball 68-70 mph and topped out at 71 mph; shows running action and control around the zone. Shows sweeping action and control low in the zone on his curveball (62-64).

Parker Lambert (2021, LHP/1B, Pensacola Catholic, FL) 

6-foot, 170-pound solid frame. During batting practice, Lambert had a max exit velocity of 88 mph. Began in an athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a short stride to initiate his swing. Has upward swing plane and efficient bat speed. Through the round he found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Line drive approach. While in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 67 mph; has a clean exchange and consistent footwork. Showed a high ¾ slot with consistent accuracy to the bag. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.36. On the mound, threw his fastball 69-70 mph. had running action. Had command low in the zone on his 2/8 curveball (59-60). His changeup (60-63) had fading action and around the zone command.
