PBR at the Hank: Quick Hits

PBR Alabama Staff

Sunday, October 4 was a picture perfect day for baseball in Mobile as players went through a morning pro style workout followed by game play at Hank Aaron Stadiium. Over the next few days we will be publishing different content relating to the event but today we take a look at just a few of the standouts from the event.

Cameron Keshock (2022, RHP/1B, Spanish Fort) No doubt, Keshock's future in on the bump as the recent Auburn commit sat 84-86 mph with the fastball while showing a solid breaking ball but he also showed some juice off the barrel during BP.  He hammered balls to the middle of the field and shows major pop as his top exit velocity was 100.7, according to Trackman. The 6'6 RHP is ulta projectable on the mound as he showed the ability to mix pitches during his inning of work.

Jake Derecki (2021, OF/1B, Oak Mountain) Derecki was a standout with the bat on Sunday. The physically built 2021 showed plus bat speed during the day and was up to 101.8 exit velocity accoridng to Trackman. Showed major to the pullside gap as the ball really carries off his barrel. Had 2 hits on the day during the game, including a loud double. Also ran a 6.97 laser timed 60.

Connor Cosby (2023, OF/LHP, Auburn) Young OF prospect that has really advanced his game of late. Showed a solid, middle of the field approach during morning BP and that carried over to the game as he had a loud double to the pullside and another loud out off of his bat.

Tyler Wingard (2022, RHP/3B, Life Christian) Very intriguing 2022 arm that was ultra impressive during his dominant inning on the mound. The fastball was 83- 85 mph but showed major arm side action and sink into RH hitters. The breaking ball showed slider type action and was a solid secondary offering. A 2022 RHP to keep an eye on.

Cam Warren (2024, SS/OF, Saraland) One of the younger players at the event but his play didi not disappoint. The swing path has some tilt in it and he showed the ability to create backspin off the barrel. Showed a mostly pullside approach with some pop to the LCF gap. he was also up to 82 mph on the mound during his inning of work.

Cason Eubanks (2022, SS/2B, Northside Methodist) Athletic, twitch athlete that really brings a lot to the table. Started things off by running a 6.77 60 and followed that up with a very impressive round of BP with an exit velocity up to 91.3 mph. The approach at the plate stood out as he consistently drove balls to both gaps. The glove and feet work very well on the infield as well. Athletic 2022 grad to keep an eye on.

Keep checking back over the bnext few days for more content from the event.
