Mid Week Look at AHSAA Playoffs

Mid week look at some players that could make a difference in this week's quarterfinals:

Carson Villalta SS / RHP / Brooks, AL / 2020

Carson's offensive numbers include a .330 BA, 14 2B's. 3 3B's, 1 HR and 26 RBI's but his pitching numbers are just as impressive with a 2-1 record, 8 saves. 0.88 ERA and 39K's in 23 ⅔ IP. Brooks will be on the road at Mortimer Jordan.

Sweet Water High School

Jonah Smith RHP / Sweet Water, AL / 2018

(UAB signee), has thrown 70 innings with 98 K's and a 0.71 ERA.

JT Etheridge 1B / Sweet Water, AL / 2020

The First Baseman carries a .405 BA into this weekend's matchup with Ragland.

Andalusia High School

Ethan Wilson LHP / OF / Andalusia, AL / 2018

South Alabama Commit, has been a two way standout this year with a .513 BA, 7 2B's, 2 HR's and 37 RBI's at the plate and a 9-0 record, including 5 CG's to go along with an ERA of 1.00 on the mound

Jacob Cravey RHP / Andalusia, AL / 2020

Cravey has been stellar on the mound as well with an 8-0 record, 5 CG's and a 1.09 ERA.

Hogan Nichols C / Andalusia, AL / 2019

Nichols has been a force at the plate with a .448 BA, 9 2B's, 1 3B, 3 HR's and 32 RBI. The Bulldogs host Holtville this weekend.

Smiths Station High School

Smiths Station High School will be hosting Alma Bryant this weekend in the 7A quarterfinals. Four guys that the Panthers will lean on heavily are:

Clayton Weatherly RHP / Smiths Station, AL / 2019

He has a 6-3 record with a 1.38 ERA with 79 K's in 56 IP. His recruiting has heated up as of late.

Jerry Dale Bowman rhp / Smiths Station, AL / 2018

(Wallace State- Hanceville CC signee) has had a great senior year with an 8-3 record, 1.04 ERA and 77 K's in 74 IP.

Dalton Gunter C / Smiths Station, AL / 2018

Offensively, the Panthers are led by Gunter a Gulf Coast CC signee, with a .400 BA, 9 2B's, 3 HR's and 28 RBI's.

Justin Owens OF / Smiths Station, AL / 2018

Owens has had a successful senior campaign as well with a .392 BA, 4 2B's, 1 3B and 23 SB's.
