These 2021 grads are still available after successful summer and fall circuits and will be looking to help lead their high school teams beginning in February. Here are some of the top uncommitted position players from the ‘21 class:

 

 

AJ Causey (2021, C/RHP, Sparkman) What will Causey do? Will he catch, pitch or do both. The C/T skills are pure and he is a solid receiver behind the plate. Shows a solid line drive approach to all fields with and has some pop, evidenced by his 94 mph exit velocity. On the mound, Causey is just as effective and makes hitters uncomfortable from a very low slot. The fastball is low to mid 80’s with tons of arm side movement from his submarine delivery. Can also surprise hitters from over the top action. The breaking ball shows nice slider action and moves very late.   

Jacob Little (2021, SS/RHP, Southside) Maybe not the biggest player on the field? It doesn’t matter. This guys just competes and doesn’t back down from anything. He’s the guy everyone wants on their team. The skills are more than solid as well. Very quick transfer on the throw from SS with enough arm strength to make that throw. From the left side, he shows some definite power to the pull side with some tilt in the bat path. Had a big year in 2019 for Southside and looks to continue that in 2020. Simply put, he’s a winner. 

Brody Moss (2021, SS/2B, Helena) After seeing Moss starting at 2nd base for Helena in the 2018 6A State Finals for Helena, you can easily see the jump that he has made since then. Moss was one of the top performers at this past summer’s PBRT Southeast Summer Championships for Excel Blue Wave. He always seemed to drive the ball to the gaps and was an extra base hit machine. The junior has a smooth stroke from the left side to go along with some sneaky power. Look for him to be one of the key contributors for the Huskies this season.

Rashad Robinson (2021, OF, Mobile Christian) The 5’11 160 pounder has always seemed to show out every time we seem him, whether it is an event or a game. He has a slightly open stance with pull side pop at the plate. Very versatile player that brings a ton of athleticism to the table, as he is a sub 6.9 runner that translates well to tracking balls in the OF. Arm strength will play at 86 mph from the OF and all throws were on target to the plate.

Daniel Stewart (2021, C/3B, Hazel Green) An impressive talent that has significant upside. With a 6’3 185 pound frame, Stewart posted a 97 mph exit velo off of a tee at an event this past summer. The ball jumps off of his bat with backspin to the gaps. Put up impressive numbers behind the plate as well with 1.91-2.01 pops to 2nd base and a C velo of 83 mph. Stewart will be one to keep an eye out this spring.
