OUTLOOK:
The Red Devils enter the 2020 season with high expectations as they welcome back six positional starters and three guys that pitched significant inning a year ago. Coach Ryan Bowerman is very excited about his front line arms and team athleticism of his 2020 squad but will be looking for a few guys in the order to provide some offensive firepower for the Red Devils. One of those front line arms with a lot to like is ‘21 RHP/INF Cole Turner (a Jacksonville State University commit).who will also play infield as well. Turner has a ton to like on the mound as he shows a power arm with tons of movement on all of his pitches that he can command very well. He shows some big time competitiveness on the mound. Senior MIF/RHP Ty Hutto is a phenomenal athlete that will definitely be counted on in a two way role. On the mound he has a live fastball and the change up is a plus pitch. Hutto defends at a high level at shortstop and is one of those guys that could provide some pop in the Red Devil lineup. ‘21 C/RHP Kaden Edwards is a solid defensive catcher with a nice arm behind the plate and is also a good runner. He will also see some time in the pitching rotation this year. ‘21 Garrett Lee is a physical (6’3 200 lbs) returner that started every game in 2019 and is primed for a big year in 2020. Lee gets great jumps on balls in the outfield, has a strong arm and can hit for power. Gage Terry is a senior MIF that shows solid baseball savvy and is a fierce competitor that defends at a high level. He is a contact hitter with solid speed that usually makes things happen when he gets on the bases. ‘21 OF/RHP Micah Owens also has plus speed is a very good baserunner. He has nice pop off the bat and hits for average as well. Four sophomores figure into the plans of the Red Devils as well:
Sophomore UTIL BenMichael Bennett- Has good speed, plus baseball savvy and is a big time competitor
Sophomore RHP Cain Byars- Byars shows a nice fastball that is complemented well by a nice breaking ball.
Sophomore C Kobe Strange- A nice catch and throw guy that can also hit for power and average.
Sophomore RHP/1B Luke Louallen- A two way guy that controls the barrel very well and has two solid pitches as well (fastball and breaking ball)
