Scottsboro scores early en route to a 6-1 win over Madison County
Senior Christian Herberholz worked 5 strong innings for the Wildcats and senior Reed Latimer was a catalyst for the offense, opening the game with a triple down the right field line. Herberholz struck out 8 and issued only 1 walk while allowing 1 hit and 1 earned run. Junior Lane Pitts worked a scoreless 6th and 7th inning to close out the victory. He allowed 1 hit, struck out 4 and walked 1. Junior Austin Mills got the start for the Tigers and went 4 innings on the mound. He allowed 5 earned runs on 6 hits while striking out 10. He was relieved by Jackson Pugh who came on and worked the final 3 innings. He did not allow a run while only yielding 1 hit to go with 6 strikeouts. Offensively, Scottsboro was led by Latimer, senior Peyton Grant, sophomore Ethan Wininger and junior Dalton Wood. In addition to the triple, Latimer also added a single while Grant had two hits, including a double. Wininger had two RBI's on a single and Wood had the big hit on the night, a 3 run homerun in the 3rd inning. Senior Matthew Glenn and junior Cannon Daversa each had a hit for Madison County.
