6/10/15 - 6-foot-5, 190-pound RHP uses long arm action through a high-3/4 to over the top arm slot, two-seam fastball shows some arm-side run and sinking action, fastball sat 85-87 mph touching 88 on one occasion, works the bottom part of the zone well with the fastball and will elevate it as a strikeout pitch, breaking ball showed mostly 12/6 action at 74-76 mph located down in the zone, threw one changeup at 80 mph with good arm action, allowed one hit, walked one, and struck out three in his two innings of work, frame projects well at the next level and is one of the top uncommitted arms in Tennessee’s 2016 class.

Comments
8/1/14 - The lanky 6-foot-5, 180-pound Thompson impressed as a member of Team Select at the PBR Future Games. Thompson's fastball sat 87-89 mph and he mixed in a 68-69 mph curveball and 74-77 mph slider to keep hitters off-balance. While he struggled some with his command early in his first outing, Thompson recovered to strike out the side and escape a bases-loaded jam unscathed.
