Koopmeiners started for the Halos in an elimination game on Sunday morning and tossed a five-inning shutout which sent his squad to the championship game. RHP/1B Henry Koopmeiners (Waukesha North, 2027) stands a long and athletic 6-foot-3, 212 pounds with more upside and projection to his frame. He showed a repeatable and rhythmic delivery down the mound with a quick arm through the baseball and feel to get it through areas of the strike zone with his fastball (80-83 mph). His sweeping slider paired nicely with the fastball out of the same tunnel and he rounded out his arsenal with a changeup that showed fade and depth at the plate. The two-way prospect performed well as a first-base prospect, too. He handles himself well around the first-base bag with sure hands and quality foot work. With the bat, the freshman recorded a max exit velocity of 91 mph and drove the ball a max distance of 338 feet which was second best among the 2027s in attendance. Koopmeiners once again put together a quality performance in front of our staff and his upside makes him one of the more intriguing prospects in the state.

Koopmeiners is an imposing 6-foot-4, 195-pound two-way prospect in the state’s 2027 class. At the plate, Koopmeiners sets up wide and takes a short/compact path to the baseball with easy bat speed and feel for the barrel. The right-handed hitter recorded an 85.8 mph average exit velocity with a max of 90.9 mph. His Blast metrics were also impressive, recording an average bat speed of 69.1 mph topping out at 77.6 mph. Defensively at first base, Koopmeiners has feel for the bag and plays with soft feet that pairs with an accurate arm across the diamond up to 77 mph. On the mound Koopmeiners impressed with his ability to repeat his delivery and arm action. His three-pitch arsenal features a running fastball that sat in the 78-80 mph range and topped 80.8 mph. He also showed feel for a tight breaking slider that he was able to consistently throw to his glove side and a low-70s changeup that he was able to throw for strikes, too.

Also on Friday, Koopmeiners contributed to Midwest Halos Scout’s 15-0 victory by turning in a quality two-way performance. Beginning on the mound, the physical 6-foot-4, 205-pound athlete presented a four-pitch mix, but mainly used the fastball to navigate through his two innings, sitting 74-77 mph, maxing out at 78. In his short outing, the right-hander struck out four batters and only allowed one hit. At the plate, Koopmeiners banged a double off of the wall on a fly, presenting quick hands and a whippy barrel, allowing him to turn on the pitch and drive it.
