6-foot-2, 190-pound right-handed pitcher. The frame is thick and durable as he should eat innings as he matures in age. The fastball sat 82-83 mph with good arm side action and life. The spin pitch is 74-75 mph and excellent in shape. The pitch should be an out pitch as he matures in age. The changeup has good action and fade to it, sitting at 72-74 mph. The delivery has crossfire to the feet and the slot is above 3/4 in height. The lift is solid in tempo and he is aggressive with his arm. The posture has a slight back arch to it as he gets into foot strike. The arm has good life and should be an upper 80's guy with ease in the spring. He is a big follow for me.
8/18/20
6-foot-2, 190-pound right-handed pitcher. The delivery is coming along nicely as he is getting more online and the stuff is trending up. The lift is repeated, small amount of back arch and he pitches out of a high slot. The feet have minor crossfire to them. The secondary pitches are solid, keeping the same hand speed on the secondary pitches is imperative. The fastball sat 84-85 mph with arm side action to it and downhill at times. The breaking ball is 72-74 mph with tilt and depth. The spin pitch could be an out pitch at the next level. The changeup is solid, sitting 70- 74 mph. He is a very good prospect in the 2023 class.

6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed pitcher. We have seen him a number of times now and he continues to impress. The delivery is online with the feet and the slot is above 3/4. The arm works quickly and the ball jumps out of his hands. The direction of the front shoulder can stay online a bit longer to tap into more velocity. Holding his posture is key to his development. His raw stuff is excellent, the fastball is up to 82 mph with downward sink. The breaking ball is excellent in shape, sitting 70-71. The changeup showed fade and sink to it, sitting at 67-68 mph. Big time prospect in the future.

The approach in the outfield is athletic and online, throwing 79 mph from the outfield. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 75 mph. The setup is even in base, toe tap and step to the ball as it approaches. The path is long and uphill. On the mound, threw the ball very well. Fastball sat 80-81 mph, arm side run to the pitch. The spin pitch is 71 mph, big in shape. The changeup is a work in progress. The delivery online with the feet and above 3/4 in slot. Tee Exit Velocity- 75 mph OF Velocity- 79 mph
JUNIOR FUTURES 5-foot-11, 140 pounds, lean frame with room to continue adding strength as he enters the high school ranks. Ran a 7.68 sixty yard dash. At the plate, McCarthy showed an all fields approach during BP with an ability to hit to gaps on both sides of the field. He works with a slight pigeon toe in the lead foot and employ a minor leg kick. Average bat speed in the present. Tee exit velocity measured at 74 MPH. As an infielder, a move to 3B may be in McCarthy’s future as he continues to grow and fill out. The glove can get a little stiff and the footwork needs refinement, but definitely possesses a left side of the infield arm. Throwing from a ¾ slot McCarthy reached 76 MPH with carry across the diamond. Also working a bullpen session as a right-handed pitcher, there was feel for a number of pitches. The hands start high and McCarthy works with a high leg kick, showing off athleticism, and helping him generate extension down the mound. McCarthy throws a four and two seam fastball, both of which come in between 72-75 MPH. The two seamer generates good sink with slight arm side tail to it as well, while the four seamer gets some natural cut on it. His 11/5 curveball shows promising shape and bite (62-65 MPH), though he can release the pitch from a slightly higher slot than the rest of his pitches. Lastly, in lieu of a changeup McCarthy mixes in a knuckleball at 64 MPH which actually produces movement. McCarthy’s highest upside is likely on the mound, where he showed off an exciting level of feel and stuff to see a potential number one starter at the varsity level down the road.
