6.26.2018

6-foot-1, 200-pound left-handed hitting catcher and right-handed pitcher. The bat has a serious chance based off what I saw on Tuesday, tee exit velocity of 92 mph. The set up is wide in base, small pick up and put down as the ball approaches. Shows the ability to stay in control of the bottom half as he initiates the swing. The path is clean and simple to the ball.  Chance to hit at a high level. Defensively, threw 73 mph from behind the dish with a pop time of 2.0. The receiving can be softened as securing the catch needs to develop. Ran a 4.47 down the line on his dig to first base. On the mound, the fastball touched 77 mph, straight in shape. The spin pitch is 67 mph, big in shape. The changeup is 69 mph, and a work in progress. The delivery is online with the feet, small jump into foot strike. The slot is above 3/4 , short path on the backside. The tracking of the front shoulder can improve to help direction and extension.  Love the bat, guy to see hit.

6 foot, 190 pounds, average athletic build, well-proportioned. Ran a 4.51 home-to-first. As a hitter, Brouillette’s feet set slightly more than shoulder width apart out of an open stance. His hands begin up high, are loose, and work from around the shoulders. The bat path is level-up. At times, Brouillette can fail to finish his swing. Has solid bat speed and was recorded at 84 mph for his exit velocity off of the tee. He collected a single and double during gameplay, with a patient approach looking to work counts. As a catcher, Brouillette has a solid physical profile. His arm velocity was clocked at 70 mph out of the chute, throwing from a higher slot. The feet work quickly, without much extraneous motion. His pop times ranged from 2.03-2.06 and the receiving skills are adequate. Shows some polish on the defensive end. As a right-handed pitcher, Brouillette throws from an over-the-top slot. His hands start at the letters, working downwards during his delivery. His fastball sat 73-77 mph. His breaking ball comes in at 64-65 mph with an 11/5 shape. There is some late break to the pitch. The changeup is developing at 70 mph, potential to improve to show-me level. Overall, Brouillette’s future is likely behind the plate as a collegiate prospect. Continued offensive production and improved arm strength are key to his stock moving forward.
