5.19.15: Brusick hits from the left side and has a short stroke. He has gap power but pulled off on the ball during the game, rolling everything to his pull side. He showed good range at shortstop, getting to a ball behind second base and nearly getting a quick runner at first. He also showed good arm strength and footwork around the ball on a double play turn.
2.22.15 Hit from a crouched stance that was balanced and athletic. Load was smooth. Leg kick stride that allowed his lower half to be explosive. Maintained good balance throughout his swing. Fast bat speed with a swing path that was short and level with good extension. Had an Exit Velocity of 84 mph. His short swing path, along with his bat speed and explosiveness should allow him to be a line drive, gap to gap hitter. In the field, he showed a high ¾ arm slot. Throws were accurate. He had a Positional Velocity of 71 MPH. Hands were soft with clean exchanges. Footwork was clean, but sat on heels at times.
