O’Donovan is 6-2 with a strong athletic frame that has some projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open athletic stance, low leg kick stride on line, smooth load back. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains good lower half balance. Keeps hands inside, short and quick to the ball with a strong contact point and extension through the ball. Uphill swing path, showed a pull approach with power that way, exit velocity was 92. Behind the plate, quick clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a short arm action, catcher velocity was 77 and pop times were 1.96-2.14.

O'Donovan is a big, physical catcher. Has arm strength behind the plate, handled Knauf and the O'Connell relievers fine, would like to see how he looks receiving a higher end arm. At the plate, he is strong, hits from a very closed off stance, but has some juice already with the potential to have more. Interesting catching prospect to follow this summer.
