Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Sippio is 6-1 with a lankier athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, short leg kick stride open, loads down and back. Hips rotate completely with some violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Kept hands inside, short and quick to the ball with strength at contact and extension through the ball. Slightly uphill swing path, line drive swing with natural loft built in and some pop in the gaps, showed a primarily pull approach with the ability to use the whole field, exit velocity was 85. In the outfield, plays through ball, fielding with average hands. Quick clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a loose arm action and carry on his throws, outfield velocity was 88. Showed some accuracy on his throws. Ran a 6.71 60 yard dash.

Sippio has an athletic frame and hits from the right side. We scout blogged him about a month ago, but Sippio continues to impress. Had a few hard line drives on the day, the first exiting at 88 mph on a line drive back up the middle. He followed that up with another line drive, this one over the shortstop. Short level swing that works well with his speed. Very instinctive on the bases. In the outfield Sippio covers ground well. He is going to be a name to follow throughout the spring and into the summer.

Sippio was one of the more impressive athletes on the day and looks to have put on some good weight and strength to an already solid athletic frame. Defensively moved well in center where he spent the majority of his time. Covered a lot of ground and moved easy while doing it. At the plate Sippio looked comfortable getting deep in at bats, which makes sense because he hit in the leadoff spot for the Royals on the day. When he got on base he wreaked havoc for the opposition. He swiped multiple bags on the day, including one to 3rd, appearing very instinctive on the bases. Offensively he works to his strengths keeping the ball out of the air, hitting line drives and ground balls forcing the defense to have to throw him out, as he gets down the line well.

In the outfield, has speed and quick feet, fields ball towards his target with above average hands. Very quick clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, outfield velocity was 80.
