McDowell is 5-10 with an athletic 165 pound frame that has some lower half strength and plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open balanced athletic stance, strides on line, loads down and back. Hips rotate completely with violence and he maintains some lower half balance. Hands stay inside, quick to the ball, slightly uphill swing path with strength at contact and good extension through the ball, showed a pull approach with the ability to go gap to gap, gets some loft and has power to his pull side, exit velocity was 91. In the infield, rounds ball and fields with a wider base and above average hands, works through the ball to a quick clean exchange, throws from a lower three-quarters arm slot, short loose very quick arm action, position velocity was 90. Ran a 7.28 60 yard dash.

Fall Invite
Leg lift to landing slightly closed. Lower half doesn’t finish as well as it could. Hands are set high with a slight bat wrap on trigger with little to no separation at foot strike. Average bat speed through the zone. Shows some balance at the plate. Rounds ball well and works through the cut in the outfield, and looks very comfortable in the infield. Attacks ball by closing the distance on plays. Gets left hip outside of the ball and fields left of center. Does good job with angles and getting eyes behind the ball while moving laterally on ground balls.
