Yi is 6-3 with a lankier athletic frame that has some projection left to it. He is a switch hitter, from the right side hits from an open athletic stance, short leg kick stride on line, loads back, hips rotate completely with violence, has some balance during his swing. Keeps hands inside ball, strong at contact point with extension through the ball, slightly uphill line drive swing, some loft built into his swing, ball carries in gaps, worked gap to gap. From the left side, setup and hips mirror his right side swing, he is shorter to the ball and keeps his hands inside, showed a bit more of a pull approach with similar power. Best exit velocity was 90. At first base, gets body behind the ball and fields with a wider base and above average hands. Clean exchange, throws from a three-quarters arm slot, free arm action, position velocity was 80.
