Marquart has a lankier athletic frame with a lot of projection left to it. He has a quick bat and a short stroke and has barrel awareness. Showed good approach working the middle of the field. In his second at-bat, lined a double to deep right center, stayed inside, got the barrel to the ball and allowed his long levers to do the work. In his third at-bat, he again hammered a ball, but this time Belser was able to run down the line drive to center for an out. Easy doubles power to all fields with home run pop still in the tank, one of the top uncommitted hitters in VA/DC in his class.

Preseason All-State II
Marquardt is 6-4 with a lankier athletic frame that has plenty of projection left to it. He hits from the right side from a slightly open athletic stance, low leg kick stride on line, minimal load, hips rotate completely and violently, has some balance during his swing. Short and quick to contact, fast bat, keeps hands inside ball, strong at contact point with good extension through ball, slightly uphill path, line drive swing has loft built in and ball carries in gaps, showed good approach working gap to gap, still has more power potential in the tank, exit velocity was 93. At first base, gets body behind ball and fields with above average hands. Plays through ball to a clean exchange, throws from a low three-quarters arm slot, free arm action, position velocity was 83. Home to first was 4.09.
